Job Title: FUNDRAISING COORDINATOR
Reports to: Executive Director
JOB SUMMARY
The purpose of the Fundraising Coordinator is to raise funds and increase opportunities in the community for the service recipients of One Hopeful Place. Fundraising Coordinator will develop a thorough working knowledge of all programs and services offered by One Hopeful Place and will assist planning the agency's year-round fund raising programs to include special events, public awareness campaigns, and capital or endowment campaigns. The Fundraising Coordinator will assist the Executive Director in all projects and programs designed to enhance One Hopeful Place and Community Solutions of the Emerald Coast in all ways. The Fundraising Coordinator will work to ensure a positive community image and enhance the financial base of One Hopeful Place.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assist Executive Director with the following functions:
Fund Raising:
Develop a one-year strategic plan for fund raising for the agency, including but not limited to following elements:
Budgets for events
Will be required to run and maintain a minimum of 3 fundraising events per year.
Identify grant opportunities. Maintain reports and fill out applications for grant opportunities to include - the Board of County Commissioners, City of Fort Walton Beach, United Way and any others as directed.
Sponsorship and Outreach: Organizations to join - The position requires active participation in the Chamber of Commerce and attendance at some Chamber of Commerce events. Will be known in the public as the fundraising contact for One Hopeful Place
Other plans for OHP exposure, i.e.; Expos, speaking engagements, displays
Special Events:
Conduct and execute the special event fund raising plans adopted by the Board of Directors. The Fundraising Coordinator will be the lead on these events.
Finance Accounting:
Maintain financial data, source of income and expense payable information on individual fund raisers as a basis for accountability. Provide a overview to the Executive Director following each event to be presented to the Board of Directors.
Public Relations:
Conduct an appropriate public relations program.
Direct and prepare promotional materials.
Maintain and actively post on social media sites, and post frequent press released to maintain One Hopeful Place in the public eye at all times.
Planned Giving:
Work with the Executive Director to implement a sound planned giving program including educating donors on methods of giving, cultivating interested donors and continuing communication with secured donors.
Campaigns:
Help plan and develop approaches to capital or endowment campaigns for One Hopeful Place.
Work with One Hopeful Place fundraising committee to determine needs and assess agency campaign capabilities.
Other Duties
Join and be active in appropriate professional and civic organizations to facilitate the success of this position.
REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
Must possess a current valid Florida Driver's License
Must be able to successfully pass the background screenings, to include Florida Department of Children and Families, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, Local Criminal, and Motor Vehicle.
Must work independently with little supervision
Must be punctual for all shifts, appointments and meetings
Must have regular attendance
Must demonstrate advanced computer skills including Power Point and other presentation software. Must be fluent in all social media
mediums
Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must demonstrate the ability to handle high stress situations in a professional manner
Must be able to interact with agency staff and outside associates positively and professionally
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
Minimum of two years' experience in public relations, fundraising, communications, sales, or a related field
Must attend all scheduled training, as determined by the Executive Director
Must be available to participate events in Okaloosa County, as directed
