Job Description

As a

Commercial Area Technician who takes pride in your workmanship at Westgate Lakes Resort & Spa, you will maintain high, medium, and low pressure steam appliances & equipment, as well as identify and troubleshoot common problems throughout the resort.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials, provide access for future maintenance, and avoid unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes.
  • Makes major repairs to plumbing systems, gas lines, toilets, sinks, refrigeration units, stoves and ovens, pumps, and laundry equipment.
  • Makes major repairs to electrical systems such as power and lighting systems.
  • Communicates and receives information to/from manufacturers and vendors for pricing on material related to equipment.
  • Completes material requisition for materials and places orders with completed purchase orders
  • Creates and maintains a 52 week preventative maintenance program on all kitchen & laundry equipment and assist other areas with implementation of preventative maintenance program.
  • Ensures that all kitchen & laundry equipment is functioning properly and that preventative maintenance measures are performed to preserve the resort and keep product quality standard.
  • Monitors mechanical electrical and water usages to insure effective energy management.
  • Responds in a courteous manner to guest questions and or requests to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Gives and receives maintenance requests and completion of individual assignments.

Qualifications

  • Certificate from college or technical school or equivalent is required.
  • Minimum of one year of electrical laundry, food & beverage equipment, and plumbing experience is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills with the ability to interact with all levels of team members and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to handle challenges effectively, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
  • Strong ability to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, 100 pounds with assistance or extra equipment if necessary and frequently stand, walk, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must be able to work with moving and vibrating mechanical parts, tools, and equipment and in outdoor weather conditions and extreme heat.
