JOB SUMMARY:The Portfolio Manager, Digital Technology, is responsible for overseeing the technology planning and portfolio management across Clients location for a large project portfolio. This role oversees the Annual Planning for the Digital Technology Team partnering with all aspects of the Business to maintain a Parks-wide, technology portfolio roadmap. Maximizes all project value by properly evaluating a new project idea, develop project documentation, authorize projects, complete the approvals process, then monitor the project lifecycle as the project is implemented by the Project Management Office. Engages with portfolio leadership across Parks, collaborating with Business / Finance / Parks Technology leadership to align portfolios to strategic plans and financial requirements. Promotes regular Portfolio reviews, provide transparent status updates with all stakeholders. Executes on the portfolio prioritization process to ensure that the prioritization of key projects aligns with available resources, timing milestones, and project dependencies. Serves as an active leader for planning, governance to assess risks, reporting against the value and progress of the Portfolio. Maintains and builds critical relationships with Business and IT Executives, Financial Executives, Program Sponsors and Stakeholders and the Project Management Office.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES % OF TIME
  • Oversee the Technology Intake and Project Portfolio to maximize business value and help translate ideas into approved, executable projects to handoff to the PMO for implementation. This includes full management of the overall portfolio, monthly actuals, change requests, scope documents, charter approvals, vendor and project labor forecasts to accurately reflect the Portfolio status. 20%
  • Create monthly review presentations and hold periodic portfolio status reviews with Business Partners and Steering Committees. Ensure full Portfolio Communication around all aspects of the project and portfolio status including status and key health metrics to all levels of leadership from Senior Executives and Program stakeholders. 20%
  • Complete Annual Planning and Portfolio Management processes for the Digital Technology team across Universal Parks & Resorts. 15%
  • Engage leadership and facilitate strategic and tactical decisions to assess risk, monitor change, and communicate financial impacts of decisions to Stakeholders, Senior Executives and Sponsors. 15%
  • Optimize and sequence the timing of approved projects based on resource constraints and dependencies partnering with our Teams. Escalate impediments and manage risk for the portfolio. Evaluate, Measure and track project health and benefits at the portfolio level. 15%
  • Govern and manage Project Lifecycle processes. Partner with the team to establish a complete governance structure to evaluate, authorize and monitor intake and projects as they pass through the charter and project lifecycle. Ensure support for both Waterfall and Agile methodologies while actively supporting the internal Communities of Practice. Partner to provide full team support including identifying gaps, creating training and processes, facilitating training sessions, gathering feedback, conducting financial reviews and monitoring the project budgets. 15%
  • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.

  • EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related Information Technology field required. Master's Degree in Business Administration, Technology, Finance or related business field preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

Required:
  • Scrum Master CSM
  • SAFe Agilist SA

Preferred:
  • Certified Product Owner CSPO
  • Certified SAFe Program Consultant SPC
  • Organizational Change Management Certification (e.g., Prosci)
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner ACP

EXPERIENCE:
  • 7+ years of experience as Portfolio Manager for a large enterprise.
  • 4+ years defining and managing complex technology portfolios.
  • Experience supporting Enterprise projects utilizing both Waterfall and Agile methodologies; Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
