Job Description

The Lead Digital Developer (Sitecore) is responsible for coordinating and owning the development team. They will build digital solutions by developing, implementing, and maintaining .NET based templates, components, and interfaces, as well as workflow features from Sitecore! This position will also be responsible for the ongoing automation of manual tasks. It will involve the creation of databases and allowing users to easily work with data in those databases. Understanding the needs of the business along with the technical tools to achieve the department’s goals is vital for this role! The ideal candidate is one who is an experienced technology leader, self starter, multi-tasker, has good executive presence, and can function as part of a robust team. A dedication to unite problem solving, sophisticated design, and quality.

  • Size and estimate development efforts. Define and lead development build plans.
  • Define site objectives by analyzing user requirements; envisioning system features and functionality
  • Craft and develop user interfaces to internet/intranet CMS applications by setting expectations and features priorities throughout development life cycle
  • Recommend system solutions by comparing advantages and disadvantages of custom development and purchase alternatives
  • Update job knowledge by researching new digital technologies and software products, participating in education opportunities as well as relevant user groups
  • Interfacing data between the Sitecore platform and custom/legacy applications
  • Using source control to maintain/backup source
  • Supporting existing business software that has been developed or acquired by HGVC

Qualifications

  • BA/BA/Bachelor's Degree
  • 7+ years of Web development experience
  • 5+ years of experience programming in one or more of the following: C#, ASP.NET, .NET Framework 2.0 – 4.0, Visual Studio 2012/2017, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and understanding of T-SQL
  • Sitecore Certified Platform Associate Developer or Sitecore Professional Developer
  • Experience with Sitecore, Azure, .NET, .NET Applets, Web Programming Skills, SQL, code source control, SOAP, ReST, JQuery, AJAX, Web User Interface Design, Software Requirements, Software Development Process, Object-Oriented Design (OOD), Multimedia Content Development, Software Debugging
  • Knowledge of Microsoft web server technologies, IIS configuration, authentication as well as Microsoft SQL server (2012 and 2016)
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Experience with hands on leadership and mentoring a team of more junior developers
