Jr. Serious Games Designer

Description SAIC is looking for a new Jr. Serious Games Designer to support the Orlando office. Responsibilites: • Use the Unity engine to design and implement well-engineered, reliable, maintainable, and bug-free code • Collaborate with team members to design and develop various gameplay or other systems • Design and test systems as directed • Follow best practices, development processes, and standards • Document and peer review designs with other designers • Work with QA, providing information needed to fully test developed systems • Keep up to date on state-of-the-art methods, practices, and technologies • Communicate with other team members and internal customers • Work well together with other team members in a cooperative, cross- disciplinary team environment • Identify technical and developmental risks/obstacles and generate solutions to overcome identified risks • Demonstrated ability to self-manage and effectively work remotely from customers and with other team members • Possess and develop areas of design expertise Qualifications Education: • Bachelor and 5 years or more experience; experience in lieu of degree is acceptable Requirements: • Experience with Unity and/or Unreal game engine • Strong design skills relating to immersive interactive virtual experiences • A passion for making and playing games, particularly Serious Games • Work well in a cooperative environment • Can take verbal direction to design and document game features and systems • Strong organizational and communicational skills • Agile development experience Desired: • Serious Games development experience • Mobile platform experience • Unity UI and/or Bolt experience • Experience using the Atlassian suite (Confluence and Jira) • Strong logical and problem-solving skills
