Our client, one of the largest marketers of tires for the automotive replacement market, is seeking a Business Intelligence Developer II
Location: Palm Beach Gardens, FL Position Type: Full Time Job Summary: This position will be responsible for development, design, analysis, testing, and support for the Business Intelligence and Analytical reporting processes, data, and systems. It will be part of a team who supports the Corporate, Retail, Wholesale, Franchise and Business to Consumer businesses. We are looking for strong analytical and development experience in complex BI and Data Warehouse environments with knowledge in data validation, technical design, implementation, process documentation, and a thorough understanding of database architecture, systems analysis/design, and BI and Data Warehouse development best practices. Primary Responsibilities: -BI/DW development, mentor junior resources and track technical deliverables to ensure project success -Conduct and collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand the vision and purpose of the development and participate in meetings to define/support deliverables for project success. -Create accurate time estimates for development tasks related to BI system. -Work with BI team members to establish best patterns, practices, and standards as new technology arises. -Collaborate with other technology departments to define development and production infrastructure needs and best practices. -Follow the enterprise SDLC standards and procedures -Adhere to BI development standards for end to end application development. -Work on multiple concurrent projects and participate in the entire software development lifecycle. -Actively adapt to changing technology needs and frameworks to best serve the technical and business needs of the organization. -Create technical documentation and code comments based on industry standards. -Define and develop software unit tests and test plans based on business requirements. -Report to the BI Manager and provide regular input on all projects, including status and updates on a weekly basis. -Evaluate, interpret and understand Functional Specifications for highly complex custom development -Design comprehensive BI solutions, translating complex requirements into an optimal BI design -Construct Technical Specification for a solution design which will meet or exceed the functional requirements as described in the Functional Specification -Develop, test, implement, and optimize scheduling for ETL jobs as described in the Technical Specification -Document and conduct unit and system testing as it pertains to new BI/BW development and maintenance -Provide input and recommendations for technical issues and process improvements -Design and implement security solutions within the BI/BW environment -Review and understand reporting requirements to model the BI/DW solution -Create BW extracts and transformations for the new reporting targets -Identify, troubleshoot & resolve issues in development/configuration/reporting -Performs other related duties as required. -Adapt processes to accommodate changes in source systems and new business user requirements -Define and capture metadata and rules ETL associated with ETL processes -Developing ETL packages using SSIS in a windows environment -Design and implement cost-effective, technically correct database solutions based on business specifications -Performance tuning and analysis including identifying and troubleshooting poorly performing queries and providing performance improvement recommendations -Collaborate with the business subject matter experts, business analysts, functional leads, architects and technical leads from other disciplines to come up with end-to-end solutions to meet the assigned business requirements -Interact with customers to achieve efficient, effective results with respect to database development and enhancement -Act as database and SQL liaison for development team. Education & Experience: -Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or technical related field -5+ years of design, development, and support experience within Microsoft SQL Server, Teradata, Oracle -5+ years of BI development using Microsoft BI tools like SSRS, SSAS, SSIS -5+ years of experience with Data Warehousing and Business intelligence development using Complex SQL, MDX, Stored Procedures, Data Modeling, OLAP and data analysis and application tuning/administration -Advanced SQL, T-SQL, Teradata, Database design and tuning skills -Demonstrated SQL server programming, as well as, SQL query creation, tuning, and troubleshooting experience -Strong technical development skills in SQL, T-SQL, XML, JSON, REST Services, OLAP, shell scripting other scripting languages, internal components, apps servers and tuning techniques, .net framework -Must be a self-starter and able to work independently on projects -The ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities simultaneously. -Experience assisting with business change activities including UAT design, planning, execution, and data provision. -Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills -High degree of accuracy with attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines -Must have a strong understanding of source code management technologies -Familiarity with business process management and analytics -Experience with BI Delivery tools, Cognos or Qlikview preferredVacancy expired!
