We are seeking an experienced Sr. Systems Engineer to be part of our Operations team that provides data center and systems support for our Software as a Service (SaaS) Microsoft Windows, VMware, and hybrid Storage Area Network (SAN) infrastructure. The candidate should possess strong troubleshooting and analytical skills; disaster recovery and business continuity planning, implementation and execution experience is a plus.
The candidate will support the company’s mission by working with other teams to design, engineer, build, implement/install and support joint solutions for remote clients. Advanced knowledge of Cisco’s Unified Computing System? (UCS) and Microsoft’s Hyper-V virtual environments is essential to be successful in this position. The candidate should also possess a good knowledge of RDC (Remote Desktop Connection / MSTSC), SolarWinds Orion and Wireshark. The candidate should be eager to work, learn and grow as part of a fast growing and highly technical team of engineers. In addition to the above, the candidate will also be accountable for providing support for Microsoft Exchange 2016, MS Server 2012-2016, and SharePoint 2013. Requirements The ideal candidate will have moderate to extensive experience with the following:- IIS administration in an extensive SaaS hosting environment
- Windows Active directory (AD), GPO Administration
- Administration and modification of DNS
- MS Windows PowerShell scripting
- Experience creating automated scripts and software preferred
- File/Print, FTP/SFTP
- EMC VNX, Pure, Nimble, NetApp and Western Digital storage arrays
- Engineering, implementing and troubleshooting of networked file systems such as NFS or CIFS
- Configuring and performance tuning of SAN switches, including zones and VSANs
- Disaster Recovery testing and implementation
- Creation of Client VM Templates, cloning and managing VM Snapshots, P2V, VMware Converter, VMware Virtualization solutions, VM Migration & Cloning
- VMotion, Storage VMotion, HA, DRS, FT, Host Profiles and SRM concepts
- SolarWinds (Orion) monitoring utilities
- Security administration and platform hardening
- Hardware troubleshooting and data center implementations and support
- TCP / UDP networking
- Microsoft SQL database replication (log shipping/AlwaysOn)
- Website Load balancing (Radware AppDirector and Alteon a plus)
- Proficiency in flowcharting and diagram design
- CommVault backup or similar product solutions
- Fluent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio

- Provide Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for system outages
- Develop, implement, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Perform daily health checks to ensure storage is operational and healthy
- Lead and coordinate troubleshooting as required; resolve and close tickets in accordance with SLAs
- Ensure system resources are patched with the latest software versions, security updates, and hotfixes
- Cross-train and mentor other engineers to improve coverage and team performance
- On-call rotation duty
- Conduct after-hour maintenance and troubleshooting as required (nights and weekends)
- Sitting for long periods of time
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
