Military Living Publications ™ is hiring! We are looking for a writer/editor. This is a part-time, work-from-home position. Candidates must live in in Virginia or Florida to simplify our payroll accounting.
Our company provides travel guides for the military community, both in printed books and online. You can check out our website at militaryliving.com to see what we do. Since we cater exclusively to the U.S. military community, some prior association with the military is highly desired.
Candidate must be able to write clearly and effectively and with proper grammar/punctuation. The ability to display a bit of creative flair while writing to create excitement in the reader and while laying out an attractive page or article is a plus. Solid experience preparing essays, articles or reports with graphics is also acceptable.
Competency working with Microsoft Word, Excel and other Microsoft Office products is required. Candidate must have broadband access, a reliable computer and be comfortable learning and working with a variety of different types of computer software including desktop publishing software, WordPress and Wix website publishing software, photo editing software, etc. You don't have to already know the less common software - you just need to be able to learn it with a little training.
All software required to do the job is provided.
The company President is very flexible, allowing you to set your own work hours and time off. While training you'll need to match your hours with a trainer, but after you've shown you are able to work independently you can pretty much pick your preferred hours. You may occasionally and temporarily need to tailor some of your time to accommodate phone calls to other time zones or overseas locations and for the occasional online business meeting.
This is the perfect job for a retiree, stay-at-home mom or dad, or person working another part-time job looking for additional part-time employment. You won't get rich in this position, but the advantages of being able to work from home should be obvious.
