The DevOps Engineer will assist our software development teams to modernize consistent development processes and tools to create higher quality software more efficiently. ROLES ARE REMOTE AND PERM.
This person will help remove time and complexity out of the development team’s workflow. They will also assist teams, by understanding their software processes to create automation and integrations to achieve increased and effective production.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Architect, develop, and implement software solutions and configurations to assist in the scaling of the software development organization.
- Assist software development teams to modernize consistent operational development processes, tools, and best practices to create higher quality software more efficiently.
- Assist teams, by understanding their software processes, to create automation and integrations to achieve increased and effective productivity.
- Actively participate and contribute to the development product release strategy to effectively build, deploy, and maintain software environments for the Platform Development.
- Collaborate with infrastructure and development teams to identify areas of improvement for various development processes and practices.
- Provide excellent customer service and support.
- Must have a firm grasp of the principles of the DevOps culture and its purposes.
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Formal Education and Certification
- BA/BS Degree or equivalent practical experience, preferably with exposure to software development and IT infrastructure.
- 5+ years of experience or involvement within a software development and IT infrastructure environment.
- Demonstrated focus on quality with ability to drive projects to completion.
- Experience with software development life cycle practices, preferably in an Agile environment.
- Deep understanding of cloud concepts, distributed design, and distributed systems.
- Expertise in the Microsoft stack including environment and configuration.
- Understanding of how to successfully lead software development operational strategy initiatives.
- Experience deploying software within public cloud, Microsoft Azure a plus.
- Experience with version control and Git.
- Deep desire to automate tasks programmatically when possible within a Windows-based IT infrastructure.
- Experience and comfort with using the command line.
- Experience with CI/CD and Automation tools and technologies such as Azure DevOps, Github Actions, Terraform or similar.
- Experience with configuration management tools and concepts such as Chef, Puppet, Salt, Ansible, or PowerShell DSC.
- Desire to expand into more modern tooling and platforms such as Kubernetes, Docker, containerized workloads, etc.
- Experience with PowerShell, Bash, Python desired, .NET/C#, and supporting/maintaining SaaS infrastructure is a plus.
