POSITION SUMMARY:

Ensure that all Club members and guests receive proper, attentive, courteous and expedient service in a clean and pleasant environment. Supervision of dining room, lounges and bars, member events, banquets and outside catered events. Responsible for interviewing, hiring, training and leading service personnel and assigning and directing work, evaluating performance and rewarding and disciplining employees. An essential role is ensuring the profitability of the department and company.

Work Schedule: Varied including nights and weekends

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Excellent personal presentation, verbal skills and writing skills

Dining room / banquet management functions including:

o Greeting and seating members/guests. Answering phones and taking to-go orders

o Knowledge of food and beverage industry and ability to comply with club service standards (service from order taking to order delivery)

o Communication skills and problem-solving skills dealing with members/guests

o Excellent staff and interdepartmental communication skills

Flexible availability as required

Ability to work extended period of time in fast-paced, high-pressure environment

Experience in food and beverage or hospitality industry (at some level) required for this position

Prior management experience strongly recommended – food and beverage industry preferred

National Restaurant Assoc. ServSafe certified or ability to successfully complete test after hiring

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and other basic computer functions

General knowledge of restaurant POS systems – previous experience with Clubessential is a plus

Ability to build professional relationship with Club members

Updating and maintaining point of sale and/or reservation systems for dining and member events

Work as a team with various departments (golf, kitchen, maintenance, housekeeping, etc.)

Organize daily meetings (line-ups) with staff; Supervise sanitation and upkeep of work areas

Hold monthly staff and safety meetings and continuous staff training

Perform required accounting procedures and daily closing procedures

Communicate comments, compliments and complaints with food and beverage director

Adhere to the rules and regulations of the Club as outlined in the employee handbook

Act as liaison between the Club and host of any banquet events

Coordinate set-up and break-down of events (with kitchen and catering sales dept. if necessary)

Oversee that guest tables, buffets, bars and all Club areas are properly set and that equipment is clean and functioning; Oversee and adjust staffing levels for all events

Secure building and set alarm as required
