Your child will feel secluded from the real world, ensconced in a quiet, relaxing environment that is conducive to reflection and self-discovery. Next Generation Village has 40 beds, which means that all of our residents receive specialized treatment tailored to their needs. With a limited number of clients, we can guarantee your child will spend more time with doctors and therapists and forge deeper connections with their peers. The Educational Counselor provides academic and vocational guidance, and counsels clients/residents to assist them in achieving more effective personal, social, educational and vocational development and adjustment.Works effectively with the facility leadership team to ensure success of the facility by completing the following:CORE JOB DUTIES:
Contact the clients’ school or parents to gather the educational materials to include virtual school or assist with completion of the GED (general educational development) preparation materials.
Prioritizing teaching methods as guided by client needs
Completing parent and student counseling as needed
Lecturing students on a multitude of subjects, as indicated by their current curriculums to include English, mathematics, science, etc. and discussing concepts
Preparing materials for presentations
Record keeping client progress
Maintaining open communication with parents and schools of clients to report on progress and ensure clients’ success.
OTHER REQUIRED TASKS:
Enforcing program rules
Reporting any concerns to immediate supervisor.
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education, Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or related field. Graduate degree preferred.
Minimum one (1) year working in education. Experience in behavioral healthcare industry preferred.
CPR certification
Standard First Aid certification
