Looking to fill regular part time positions as well as part time initially with potential to transition permanent full-time Delivery Driver jobs. Also looking for part time helpers to assist drivers to work for successful and highly respected Contracted Service Provider for FedEx. We are a well established, top performing team looking for UPBEAT, POSITIVE people who enjoy interacting with customers and fellow team members. MUST be a team player, in decent physical condition and willing to be flexible.
Good pay, company vehicle, prepaid fuel, uniforms, scanner, maintenance and training provided.
DRIVER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Florida drivers license (DL required to be a driverhelpers only need valid ID)
- Good, safe driving record (will be verified with DMV)
- Must clear criminal background check
- Must be able to pass drug tests (both pre-employment as well as randoms once hired)
- Minimum combined 12 months commercial driving experience in last 3 years (or 5 years during past 10 years). NOTE: examples of commercial experience may include lawn service trailer towing, restaurant food deliveries, bread route and more.
We may offer training for the ideal candidate with less than one year commercial driving experience, depending on circumstances
- MUST pass DOT physical and obtain DOT medical card
- Lift up 10-50 lbs. regularly and to 80+ lbs. as needed
- Be EXTREMELY RELIABLE with solid work history and references
- Be able to learn and understand how to use a scanner
DUTIES INCLUDE:
- Positive, upbeat interaction with customers and coworkers
- Loading packages onto vehicle from Cocoa Terminal at 3155 Grissom Parkway
- Delivery and pickup of packages to/from customers
- Learn and safely navigate streets on route
IDEAL CANDIDATES
- Early bird: be at terminal by 7 a.m., depending on schedule
- Be flexible (ending times may vary depending on package volume, ability, pace)
- Quick learner and team player
- Available Monday thru Saturday (may vary depending on volume, schedule, etc.)
- Able to work independently yet eager to contribute to the team throughout the day
- Willing and able to work physically demanding job (this is NOT an easy job; MUST ready to work hard)
- No drivers license suspensions in past 36 months
- This is NOT an easy jobbut it is enjoyable and rewarding for the right person. If you don't like to sweat and lift or walk a lot, this job is NOT for you
