ERP (PeopleSoft) Team Lead Position Description We are seeking an ERP (PeopleSoft) Team Lead to join our team. The selected candidate will work a hybrid schedule consisting of three (3) days each week onsite in Tallahassee, FL and two (2) days each week working remotely. ERP Team Lead: Accountable for providing overall direction and integration for a specific ERP module, functional and/or business area. Understands the business strategy of a particular function/area and works with the team to define business requirements. Communicates and coordinates with other Team Leads, business leadership, and Project Manager to ensure appropriate integration of processes and modules across the enterprise. Oversees, defines, and monitors critical path activities and resolves issues or escalates issues to the Project Manager as needed. Drives the design and implementation of new business processes with organizational structure and required ERP configuration. Must possess an in-depth understanding of the business function/process supported and be viewed as a credible representative of that business function/process. Successful implementation is dependent on the ability of the incumbent to influence business leadership and management decisions and drive ownership and acceptance of changes to the business. Background: Based on prior business process reengineering and information technology initiatives, the Department has identified over 1,400 financial-related applications, automated processes, interfaces, and reports that support the development and delivery of the Department s 5-Year Work Program. During the lifetime of these systems, new state statutes, federal regulations, and procedural mandates have triggered changes in the demands of, and rules related to, basic business processes, applications, and application interfaces. These changes were essential to the continuity of business. Included in these changes were the development of additional computing assets, including a reporting infrastructure, to address core functional needs and to facilitate complex reconciliations between interfacing applications. Many of these computing assets utilize a technology that is either outdated or considered non-strategic by the Department. Problem Statement: Further analysis is required to transform business process gaps, determine integration points, and translate detail requirements and supporting data structures to align with potential Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) computing solutions, including Oracle PeopleSoft s financial management software. The selected candidate will provide functional support in the review of business requirements to determine required automation of business processes, translation of financial-related data structures and reporting requirements into agency infrastructure designs and related configurations, and the development of test plans for computing asset remediation, enhancements, and other application changes. The selected candidate may also be assigned the review and artifact development for business process transformations, data conversion and cleansing, and other supporting tasks from various computing initiative readiness workplans. Education

  • Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or another related field. Or equivalent work experience.
Experience
  • A minimum of 7 years of IT and business work experience including managing team(s) responsible for systems implementation and/or infrastructure support.
Primary Job Duties/ Tasks The selected candidate must be able to perform the following duties and/or tasks. Duties of the selected candidate will include, but not be limited to:
  • Provide an assessment of the extent to which PeopleSoft ERP modules align with the delivery of a multi-year capital plan of projects and business outcomes as required by statute.
  • Develop PeopleSoft ERP evaluation strategies, methodologies, and work plans.
  • Provide knowledge transfer of PeopleSoft financial-related modules functionality and processing features, including interfacing of subordinate computing systems and reporting and data extraction capabilities.
  • Translate business requirements into design specifications, interfacing data structure changes, workflow definitions, and ERP module-relevant security profiles.
  • Create a mapping of detail functional and technical requirements into PeopleSoft module functionality. Provide guidance on the recording of requirements traceability matrices and associated documents.
  • Research financial related best practices for project costing and contractual agreement performance monitoring using the PeopleSoft solution and provide recommendations for the use of PeopleSoft ERP modules and/or Business Intelligence Tools, such as PowerBI and Tableau.
  • Advise project management on integrations of ERP software platforms (i.e., Oracle PeopleSoft s financial management software) and implication of module changes on other module functionality, business process and master data impacted, and security and development solutions.
  • Participate in efforts to define the impact on Department computing assets due to business process and data structure changes. Produce written deliverables including, but not limited to business process diagrams and narratives, requirements, specifications and business or technical analyses.
  • Support training needs and assist with the development of job aids and other training materials related to business process changes and PeopleSoft ERP module functionality.
  • Advise project resources on risks, action items, issues, and decisions and contribute to the mitigation of risks and resolution of project issues.
Job Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) The selected candidate must have the following required KSAs and experience:
  • Advanced knowledge of PeopleSoft modules and their use.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft ERP financial related modules and complex interfacing methodologies with external systems.
  • Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and practices of budgeting, accounting, and cost control procedures.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems, practices, and internal control concepts.
  • Knowledge of industry standard best practices of the ERP implementation life cycle.
  • Advanced skills with assisting users with business process changes and improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to produce legible and complete functional documentation in a way that thoroughly captures business processes and inputs/outputs of applications. Ability to model data and document database objects.
  • Ability to analyze and accurately and completely define processes and workflows to design efficient information solutions, including missing or duplicate functionality in existing applications.
  • Ability to work effectively with users and a project team, to identify and document requirements for the development or remediation of computer systems, including technical overviews and context diagrams. Ability to develop test scripts and trace documented requirements through development, testing and deployment.
  • Ability to accurately estimate time requirements for assigned tasks for a project.
  • Ability to work effectively with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Data Analysts, and Technical Architects to design solutions in the remediation of business applications utilizing all established Departmental standards.
  • Skills in facilitating work sessions with subject matter experts in a large-scale project environment.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information to technical and non-technical users, both verbally and in writing.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Preferred KSAs:
  • Knowledge of relational database theories and concepts.
  • Skill in data conversion techniques, data cleansing approaches and validating data relationships
  • Ability to prepare test plans
  • Skill in performing QA reviews and provide valuable feedback in determining that standards are met and that documents are complete and comprehensive.
  • Knowledge of enterprise data management tools, such as Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog (EDC) and Axon.
