Strong candidates are expected to have a broad set of skills and knowledge encompassing steam generators, HRSGs, combustion equipment, SCRs, fabric filters, flue gas desulfurization system, and similar systems including auxiliaries related to power and other heavy industries. Strong candidates shall exhibit deep code knowledge of ASME Section I, VIII, NFPA 85, and PTC codes, EPA regulations/test methods and shall be capable of simple and complex analyses related to the design, specification, and applications engineering tasks associated with this equipment.#LI-KT1Key ResponsibilitiesPerform conceptual design engineering analyses and prepare reports for new and retrofit steam generation equipment.

Evaluate, select, and implement appropriate designs for boilers and air quality equipment for a reliable, cost effective, and efficient operation.

Coordinate with equipment manufacturers to select the most technically acceptable design solutions.

Utilize leading and current technologies in development of designs.

Prepare equipment cost estimating and manhours for Conceptual, FEED and Detailed Design phases as well as retrofit analysis.

Prepare steam generation and/or air quality equipment and construction specifications.

Review, interpret, and include client technical specifications in the bid & purchase specifications.

Prepare bid evaluations and administer technical contracts.

Evaluate manufacturer's or contractor's proposals, data, reports, etc., for conformance with B&V criteria.

Prepare performance test procedures, document test results, and prepare test reports.

Support coordination and witnessing of startup, commissioning, and performance/emissions testing of boiler & air quality equipment

Supervise drafters, designers, and subordinate engineers assigned to the project. This includes work assignments, scheduling, and review.

Develop and maintain expertise with renewable fuels, oil and natural gas, and coal fired central station steam generators and auxiliaries, as well as HRSG’s downstreamof combustion turbines and gas and oil fired package boilers.

Develop and maintain expertise with established and emerging emissions control technologies including SCR, precipitators, sorbent injection, carbon capture, and others.

Coordinate meetings with internal disciplines, external consultants, clients, contractors, subcontractors, and vendors/fabricators.

Perform Pre-Inspection meetings, shop surveillance, attend inspections & testing on boiler & air quality equipment in vendor’s shop.

Management ResponsibilitiesPreferred QualificationsExperience working in power and other heavy industries

Experience in selecting and working with all types of boiler and air quality equipment

Experience in ASME Code (Section I, Section VIII Divisions 1 & 2)

Experience in NBIC Code for pressure vessel repairs, alterations, and re-rates

Experience with NFPA 85 code

Experience and familiarity with EPA emissions regulations and test methods

Experience with PTC requirements

Experience in reading detailed project drawings and blueprints and technical interpretations

Experience in attending and performing engineered equipment shop inspections and/or startup, commissioning, testing of boiler & air quality equipment

Experience in writing boiler & air quality equipment specifications

Experience in material and component selection for boiler & air quality equipment.

Experience with working on projects from early conceptual to detailed engineering and on to project start-up and operations support.

Experience in the role ofResponsible Engineer on larger projects.

Have mentoring skills and work with and encourage junior staff.

Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

Experience to handle multiple jobs/projects on a weekly basis

Excellent organizational skills and time management skills; self-paced

Having the following additional experience will have added advantage:

Experience in the role of Lead Boiler or Air Quality Engineer on projects or at an operating unit.

Experience in equipment installation, commissioning, & start-up support at site.

Experience in working in hydrogen, carbon capture, or other emerging clean energy technologies

Experience in workshare with other country offices globally.

Minimum QualificationsRequires a bachelor's degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing. Minimum of 8 years related work experience.
