Candidate must live in the Eastern Standard Time Zone due to client and team needs.Responsibilities:Manage/develop a team of Procurement specialists and one Strategic Sourcing specialist and serve as the first point of escalation for all procurement and sourcing activities in the region

Closely work and align with the Interim Global Procurement/Sourcing Lead - Clinical Ancillary Management.

Maintain strong, advantageous professional relationships with strategic & key suppliers.

Responsible for the identification and development of global / regional suppliers of medical devices, laboratory equipment, consumables and other healthcare-related products to support the Clinical Ancillary Management team.

Create and manage global / regional sourcing strategies for key product categories to ensure ancillaries can be successfully procured and distributed in multiple countries.

Develop global / regional manufacturer relationships to ensure consistent supply of products at international clinical trial sites.

Identify and develop region-specific supply chains as required by local markets.

Partner with the Commercial team to identify industry trends and translate those requirements to guide supplier development.

Leverage Thermo Fisher Scientific products, relationships, and our global / regional distribution network in order to drive continuity of supply to the patients we serve and maximize the profit potential for goods purchased and to create holistic solutions for our clients.

Model and foster excellent customer service (internal and external) in all functions and responsibilities.

Partner with Sales, Solutions, Clinical Supply Chain Managers, Quotations and local Procurement to develop optimal solutions and satisfy customer requirements.

Coordinate with the CAM supply chain managers, distribution management, and other internal customers to ensure inventory availability to support jobs and order fulfillment.

Ensure with the internal warehouses & the QC receiving department a timely & smooth receipts of the medical ancillary items.

Resolve complex issues related to suppliers, item availability, scheduling, deliveries, logistics, and other areas in order to support the CAM clinical trial supply chain.

Utilize PPI tools, participate in and lead PPI projects and implement methodology to drive continuous process improvements to improve department effectiveness and drive out departmental waste.

Use data and metrics, in particular spend visibility, to support decision-making and drive improvement initiatives.

Create robust supplier development programs that includes pricing structure, volume discounts, rebates, quality management and on time delivery.

Engage in supplier initiatives including competitive bidding, supply agreements, & supplier quality management.

Engage with vendors to increase compliance with our corporate payment terms and work to generate reductions to year on year price, without sacrificing quality.

Employs best practice to maximize cost savings opportunities including negotiation tactics.

Improve rebates, discounts, incoterms & on time delivery.

Lead and participate in regular business reviews with strategic / key ancillary suppliers, creating key deliverables to drive collaborative discussion.

Improve internal relationships / understanding

Apply current Good Manufacturing Principles (cGMP), current Good Distribution Principles (cGDP) in all areas of responsibility.

Be an overall ambassador for the Procurement / Sourcing department and continuously promote this role as a value-added function.

Educational requirements:High School Diploma is required.

Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S.) in business or sciences from a four-year college or university is preferred.

APICS, CPM, CPIM, or similar supply chain certification.

Minimum Qualifications:Five or more years of experience in purchasing, project management, client services, healthcare, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proven track record of success, must be a results oriented individual with excellent dynamic characteristics.

Ability to work as part of a global / regional team to accomplish individual and team objectives.

Very good, experienced commercial acumen.

Proven Customer focus and significant drive to meet requirements.

Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability and agility to multi-task, delegate, and efficiently handle competing priorities within a limited amount of time.

Strong experience with purchasing and inventory IT systems, such as Coda, GPM, Salesforce.

Analytical experience compiling and reporting spend, discounts, pricing reductions, etc. and using this information to make decisions or recommendations, problem-solving abilities

Strong communication skills and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate cross-functionally with various levels of staff, from temporary or entry level employees to upper management.

High proficiency in I.T. applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).

Ability to travel 5-10% of the time

Preferred Qualifications:Basic understanding of the clinical development process, clinical trial supplies, and the overall clinical ancillary supply chain. Ideally, direct experience in the ancillary, lab supplies, healthcare or CRO industries.

Previous management / leadership experience, which can include leading project teams, supervising others’ work, and coaching / training a team member. Able to manage strict guidelines.

PPI experience.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and work instructions.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients and customers.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
