As a Sr. Content Designer, you will be part of the team responsible for designing products that help guests gain the most enjoyment from their experiences. Beyond providing practical and useful solutions, you will craft the content architecture and strategy for the digital experiences that connect with our guests on an emotional level, delivering designs with the quality and character. Your role is a crucial part of the Guest journey as the Content Design team acts as the connective element that supports our Guests' content experience across multiple products, platforms, touch points and teams. In addition, your expertise managing content lifecycle, structure and organization of products that may have complex legacy systems and processes is critical to both appropriate ROI and KPIs for content. You'll approach your work from a multidisciplinary, holistic perspective applying expertise across user experience, content strategy, and interface design to define complete product solutions. Key facets of this role include embracing ambiguity, being flexible, demonstrating design leadership and shining the spotlight down and across. Additionally, as a member of the senior team, your position requires you to contribute to the shape of the Content Design department by consistently exhibiting optimism, subject matter expertise, leadership, and mentoring skills. An ability to identify content design needs across the organization and communicate opportunities to senior leadership will be a key component of success within the Product Design & Creative team. Responsibilities:

  • Guides the creation, distribution and governance of content for all assigned projects
  • Develops strategic content designs to inspire, shape, and create compelling experiences that benefit Guests and support business and project priorities
  • Leverages industry, business, Guest, product, and site research and analytics to guide content decisions on digital products and experiences
  • Develops complex information architectures and taxonomies across products and platforms and maintains filter documentation that includes the categories, dimensions and values of content entities, their relationships, and the rules governing filter displays
  • Collaborates with Copywriters to ensure content achieves business goals and supports the Guest experience
  • Ensures consistency and collaboration between disciplines and strategic continuity across content design deliverables
  • Builds relationships with cross-functional partners and teams in an effort to identify opportunities to support organization-wide needs with content design
  • Researches and reports on relevant industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for new or improved content experiences across the organization
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Ability to easily identify Content Design needs for a multitude of products and also estimate Content Design hours to inform product budgets and timelines
  • Integrate and collaborate naturally with Product Designers to create experiences that fulfill product and business requirements
  • Proficiency in User Experience best practices and concepts as they relate to content, product and feature UI
  • Possess a strong grasp of organizational principles of content, including information architecture, building taxonomies and categorization.
  • Ability to learn and become a subject matter expert on the content ecosystem structure, repositories, systems and processes
  • Comfortable extracting and analyzing various types of data to inform content design recommendations
  • Ability to distill complex content design concepts into clear and digestible presentations for review with various stakeholders, including executive leadership
  • Understands the implications of new technologies in changing Guest experiences and the KPIs that measure them
  • Brings original, strategic ideas to the discipline and organization; regularly presents to internal and external leaders to secure approval of CD ideas and recommendations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with content strategy, content design, and app/web information architecture
Required Education:
  • Bachelors or Relevant Experience
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Participate in OrangePeople monthly team meetings, and participate in team-building efforts.
  • Contribute to OrangePeople technical discussions, peer reviews, etc.
  • Contribute content and collaborate via the OP-Wiki/Knowledge Base.
  • Provide status reports to OP Account Management as requested.
