Director of Curriculum

Job Description: Plans and implements activities that promote the social, physical and intellectual growth of children for VPK and Pre-K classroom. Responsible for the care, hygiene, learning, and developmental activities, specialized programs, and redirection of children. Communicates directly with parents. Maintains classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness. Responsible for the development of COMPANY’S curriculum program.
AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Lead VPK teacher
Collect as necessary and distribute all associate curriculum worksheets and supplies if necessary.
Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local laws, as well as company policies and procedures.
Creates positive environment that demonstrates respect for all.
Proactively recognizes and responds to parent concerns.
Insures center provides a safe and healthy environment by complying with company health and safety policies, as well as state, federal and local requirements.
EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE:
Early Childhood Education preferred
Related Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required
One or more years experience managing non-exempt employees, quality control and finances in service industry preferred (children's education, care, development preferred)
Analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to juggle multiple tasks
Solid communications skills - oral and written
Must be computer literate at a general business-level (word processing, Excel spreadsheet, Microsoft Outlook e-mail functionality)

Ability to thrive under frequent pressure
Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds.
