Why you'll love this job We are looking for an experienced Container migration SRE lead, who understands the enterprise containers in Docker Swarm to advanced Kubernetes platforms (OpenShift, Tanzu) deployments and has prior experience leading large scale container migrations and deployments. The container migration lead will bring in Kubernetes deployment with software engineering SRE best practices. This role is instrumental in continuing our Container First strategy delivery, bringing expertise in the platform design, development, and implementation of large-scale container migration projects. The ideal candidate has experience in highly regulated financial organization with a firm grasp of emerging technologies and trends and could customize these to drive security and efficiency for the enterprise organization.

What You'll Do Assume full responsibility for the Container migration area and consistently demonstrate mastery of IT environment (i.e. infrastructure, production, security, data, applications, etc.). This leader brings the balance of container migration coupled with advanced Kubernetes stateful and stateless container platforms at the enterprise level. Experience with a contemporary application software language; especially a systems programming language (Go, Python) Experience with Agile SDLC; knowledge of a framework such as SCRUM, SAFE, DAD, etc. Understanding of architectural patterns; Microservices are important, but experience with other patterns helpful Practitioner of version control; experience with different branching strategies (and understands why GitFlow is not a good choice for CI/CD and enterprise development teams) Understands and uses unit and functional testing; ideally advocates tests up front (advocates tests for moving faster) Experience defining delivery pipelines; demonstrable work in automation and observability (Bonus points for experience using GitOps for deployment) Understands K8s resiliency patterns (HPA, self-healing) Understands container image optimization Internalized characteristics of 12 factor (and beyond) applications; understands the fallacies of distributed computing; subscribes to the Rugged Manifesto, can optimize solution for system/services availabilities Demonstrate thought leadership in private and public cloud services across multiple channels and become a trusted advisor. Identify, advocate, and implement technical solutions that advance our ability to deliver new business capabilities to the market, quickly, securely and in a risk aware manner Assist with creating container migration strategies, defining delivery architecture, creating the migration plans, designing the orchestration plans, and more. Assist in creating and executing of migration run books Note: Responsibilities of this role are not limited to the details above

Your talents needed for success Must understand Container platform design best practices, container security and can adopt and establish site reliability engineering model (SRE) to support DTCC's container migration journey. Broad understanding of industry trends across software development / architecture, cloud operating platforms and data. Experience with the planning, design and the implementation of a Container Service, preferably with OpenShift, Tanzu and Portworks. Prior Financial Services experience is highly preferred. Alternatively, must have prior experience or appreciation for working in a regulated environment (i.e. financial services, insurance, healthcare, etc.). This includes a track record of successfully partnering with industry regulators Possess a strong understanding of SDLC principles and processes

Qualifications Minimum of 7 years of related experience Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience
