Job Title: Sr. Network/ArchitectLocation: Tampa, FloridaDuration: Long Term/CTH

SummaryTop level contributor and technical expert in the area of local and wide area networking, communications, and related hardware/software. Responsible for the overall integration & integrity of the enterprise-wide network including the planning, design, installation, maintenance, management, and security of the corporate wide & local area networks (LAN/WAN).

Major Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for overall design and architecture of enterprise network environment of routers, switches, MPLS networks, load balancers, firewalls, IPS/IDS, and monitoring systems.
  • Translates business requirements into network or process designs.
  • Plans and recommends network hardware, systems management software and architecture.
  • Approves and modifies network design and architecture to ensure compliance.
  • Configures and maintains routers, switches, and other network hardware and software including wireless and VoIP.
  • Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise.
  • Monitors network performance ensures capacity planning is performed and is proactive in assessing and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Provides tier 3 troubleshooting support with the most complex data and hardware problems, researches and analyzes significant, complex network problems that require evaluation of intangibles, such as downstream effects on client satisfaction, assesses and evaluates current and future systems.
  • Develops strategies and direction for network systems solutions using current and emerging technologies.
  • Works with IS Operations, Field Services, IS Security, and IS Applications to provide intradepartmental technical support for Capital Projects and daily support for Work Orders within project timelines and SLA’s.
  • Provides guidance and training to junior technical staff.
  • Works with the company trouble ticketing system and provides end user support to meet or exceed SLAs. Availability for rotating on-call support.
  • Performs other tasks as assigned.
  • Conducts job responsibilities in accordance with the standards set out in the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, its policies and procedures, the Corporate Compliance Agreement, applicable federal and state laws, and applicable professional standards.

Position QualificationsEducation/Learning Experience
  • Required: College Graduate or equivalent work experience
  • Desired: BS in Computer Science, Industry Standard Certifications
Work Experience
  • Required: Previous experience in project leadership. 5-7 years in infrastructure/network environments performing network planning, architecture design, hardware and software engineering and optimization. 2-3 years enterprise network design including WAN and LAN topologies and security concerns regarding DMZ implementation. 4-5 years’ experience with MPLS networks and class of service design.
  • 4-5 years of Hands-on SSL VPN, firewall management, use of network tools, vLAN trunki environment with Midrange system interoperability. 5-7 years networking infrastructure support experience including Internet connectivity, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, and DHCP.

Skills/Knowledge
  • Required: Advanced knowledge with Network Operating Systems, Hardware, and Software troubleshooting skills. Advanced TCP/IP fundamentals including routing, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, subnetting, network sniffing, WINS, DNS, and DHCP. Proficiency in MS applications (Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
    • Desired: Network Security Auditing and Mitigation

    • Cisco Nexus - (9k, 7k, 5k)

Licenses/Certifications
  • Required: CCNA, CCNP
