- Design and plan Information Technology solutions based on business requirements.
- Develop artifacts that support business planning, high level designs, and implementation plans resulting in build, operations, and services specifications.
- Incorporate security and resiliency concerns into infrastructure designs to minimize exposures.
- Provide consulting services to customers/requestors and articulate and demonstrate how currently supported infrastructure solutions could address their business challenges and opportunities.
- Maintain an understanding of existing DTCC technology assets for demonstrating the reuse and/or consolidation of IT services.
- Lead and enable collaboration across technology specialties and maintain a solid grasp of Agile and Waterfall project delivery methodologies.
- Evaluate and recommend technology solutions, often in conjunction with domain specialists
- Work with Infrastructure and Application Development teams to architect standard infrastructure solutions within the DTCC estate.
- Supervise and participate in post-implementation reviews to ensure compliance.
- Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to supervise and mitigate risk.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience
- Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent experience
- Experience with engineering solutions adhering to compliance i.e.: HIPAA, SOX, SAS70, etc.
- Experience in the following: Cloud services. Virtual Server technologies, Networking & Security, Database Deployment / Migration.
- In depth experience with Cloud methodologies (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), automation, orchestration, cost frameworks, trends and industry-leading private/public/hybrid cloud vendor offerings and interoperability
- Experience with Amazon Web Services such as EC2, S3, ELB, RDS, Lambda
- Experience architecting automated data center processes, including provisioning, application and patch management, monitoring and alerting, capacity monitoring and planning, demonstrating execution and human approval workflow design and implementation
- Experience with Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery design, and Resiliency planning and implementation.
- Infrastructure analysis and design experience in mapping user problems to reusable design and technology solutions.
- Functional knowledge of: Standards Usage, Cost Analysis and Management, Capacity Planning / Demand Management, Compliance, Support (Operations/Customer Care), Asset Repurpose Management, Risk Management, Green Technology, ITIL, IT Governance.
- Demonstrable ability to optimally communicate sophisticated concepts to business representatives.
- Experience with Linux (RHEL & SLES), Microsoft Windows (server and desktop) and Microsoft Technologies
- Experience with Web technologies including web services architectures and security
- Experience with RDBMS technologies including Oracle, MS-SQL, AWS PostgreSQL, DB2
- Experience overhauling legacy applications to work with modern technologies
- Experience with IBM Mainframe platforms
- Experience with Distributed Ledger Technologies
