Scope of Position:

The Youth Care Worker is responsible for the meaningfully engagement of children, with the aim of meeting the developmental, cultural and care needs by ensuring their day to day care, actively participate in program activities, supporting the resident's case plan and developing their personal skills.

Three schedules offered: 24/7 Shift for this role may require work outside of regular day-time hours.

Responsibilities:

Ensuring a safe home for residents

Provide new and challenging opportunities for development.

Encourage and assist in learning competencies for independence.

Encourage and engage client's in educational and social activities.

Facilitate community access and integration.

Maintain tracking documents, logs and reporting requirements.

Work as a team with other Youth Care workers and shift supervisors to promote a safe and healthy environment for the residents.

Adhere to Case Plan for assigned resident with direction from Caseworkers and/or supervisors.

Support appropriate activities.

Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent job related experience is preferred.

Computer Proficient in Microsoft Outlook & Word

Knowledge of residential care plus 12 months experience working with young people

Physically able to perform therapeutic physical restraints

Effective negotiation/mediation skills

Driver's License

Cleared background check & TB Test

Experience in working with Faith-based organizations

Physical Requirement: sitting, standing, walking, lifting, carrying, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, crawling/crouching, possible driving
