Gulf Management Systems, Inc. (GMS) provides ACH payment solutions, credit card processing integrations, and business management software as a service since 1992. GMS has an immediate opening for a Senior Systems Administrator for its office in Clearwater, FL. This would be a full-time, on-premises position. Ideal candidates will have 10+ years of systems or network administration experience with an emphasis on Windows technologies, including SQL Server, Windows Server, IIS, and legacy Windows solutions like Access 2000 and VB6. Experience with Amazon Web Services, LAMP stacks, application development, and code deployment are a plus.

Responsibilities

The Senior Systems Administrator functions as an information technology professional and will deploy, implement, troubleshoot, analyze, and maintain networks, servers, and applications as required. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time for business reasons. However, the following reflects the current definition of essential functions for this job:

Maintain and provide improvements as needed to the company’s business applications.

Utilize IIS to deploy new or improved applications and to facilitate phase-out of unused applications.

Maintain, update, and deploy Microsoft SQL Server 2008 through 2019 and Microsoft Server 2008 through 2019.

Maintain physical and cloud LAN, WAN, and computing solutions, such as switches, firewalls, servers, and workstations, including troubleshooting network problems.

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all networks, systems, and applications.

Prepare solution and other proposal presentations.

Daily maintenance and problem resolutions, including operating system patches, software upgrades, and hardware configurations.

Engage in annual level 1 PCI audit and ensure that all PCI requirements are met year-to-year.

Provision, administrate, and terminate user permissions across business infrastructure.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in an engineering field.

5+ years of server or network administration or senior level development experience.

Experience implementing and administrating network devices and setting and maintaining policies, rights, and security protocols within a Windows Server environment:

o Windows Server 2012 through 2019 Active Directory;

o Microsoft SQL Server accounts, roles, and policies;

o SMB file share, avoiding security vulnerabilities and adhering to best practices; and

o Distributed File System to maintain distributed backups of business-critical information.

Experience planning and executing in place or staged migrations of business-critical Windows Server workloads and Microsoft SQL Server installations.

Experience with Legacy Microsoft applications; specifically, Access 2000 and VB6.

Databases: MS SQL Server 2008 R2 and MySQL 5.6 (these need to be upgraded or migrated).

Internet Services and Distribution: IIS 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10; and Apache.

Operating Systems: Windows 10, Server 2008 R2, Server 2012, Server 2012 R2, Server 2016, and several variations of Linux.

Programming Languages: Visual Basic 6 (VB6), Visual Basic, VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, Python, javascript, PHP (including the Laravel framework).

Integrated Development Environment: VIM, Visual Studio 2010, Visual Studio 2015, PHP Storm, Access 2000.

Version Control: SVN and GIT.

Virtualization: Cloud solutions, managed services vendors, and Hyper-V.

Encryption: Cell level, TDE, symmetric and asymmetric keys, and certificates.

Vacation

12 paid days off annually.

3 paid flex days accrued annually, able to be carried into subsequent years.

Additionally, 7 major holidays as paid time off: New Years, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
