The database developer will be part of an agile team focused on altering existing application database code, building new ETL packages, taking part in minor production assistance where necessary and working with business analysts to understand requirements for new data structures as necessary. The developer will use SSIS packages in SQL Server 2012, DB2 on IBM i as source databases, SQL Server staging databases and target Oracle as the data warehouse platform. Effective communication will be a key success factor as changes in scope, effort and timeline within the project team is a constant.

(Database environment consists of MS/SQL Server 2005-2012, DB2 on IBM i, DB2 on AIX databases, Hadoop, and Oracle).

- Provides production support and communications for existing SSIS ETL/jobs by working with network administrators, technical support staff, application development teams, and 3rd party vendors in order to implement tactical solutions for performance and functional issues.

- Deploys and QA tests SSIS ETL and database changes via implementation into a model environment.

- Works with production administrators to find root cause analysis of production database application issues.

- Database Architecture / Modeling of new data structures to support RDBMS or OLAP solutions

- Develop ETL processes necessary to extract data from various data sources using SQL Server Integration Services(SSIS) and load to data warehouse.

- Perform data analysis and develop source-to-target data mapping.

- Contributes to the development of tables, stored procedures, views, triggers, and other database objects on MS SQL Server, DB2 on IBM I, DB2 on AIX, Hadoop and Oracle platforms

- Create and maintain documentation of data integration specifications and ETL processes to be available to business and IT teams.

- Use sound software engineering principles to ensure that developed ETL is modifiable, efficient, reliable, understandable, and fault tolerant.

- User acceptance test activities and deliverable review for SSIS applications.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree and/or 5 - 7 years equivalent experience

- Must have excellent skills in SQL Server 2012, TSQL, SSIS Package.

- Experience with multi-dimensional databases.

- TFS and Visual Studio database projects

- Background working in an Agile environment

- Ability to manage workload in a multi-tasking environment

- Strong oral and written communications

- Strong PC experience including Windows and the MS Office suite

- The ability to share learned knowledge to increase support level of database systems

- Willingness to learn through on the job experience and support new technology

- Willingness to perform additional, unplanned project work when assigned

- Must be a team player

Optional Qualifications:

- Database certifications in Microsoft or Oracle

- Experience in a DB2 on IBM I, DB2 on AIX, or Hadoop database environment

- Familiar with CA ERWin data modeling software

- Experience using BIML scripts to create SSIS packages

- Experience with MicroStrategy 10
