Night shift, 40 hours a week, 8hr shifts, Swing person Suppliers Please Note the Following Shift Requirements for this role: 40 hours a week, this is a swing person shift. Normal hours will be mon-fri, 8hr shifts but when coverage is needed they will assist with coverage. MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important): General knowledge of telecommunications technologies including: TCP-IP, Packet Voice, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and LAN technologies, and the inter-working of these technologies. These would encompass voice, data, broadband, VoIP, IPT, and Internet services, and the deployment and implementation of these services Strong knowledge and experience with the Internet Protocol (IP) suite are essential, including protocols such as BGP, OSPF and EIGRP, packet flow and their relationships and integrations in large-scale networks A first-hand working knowledge of network monitoring tools (Client OpenView, CIC-Netcool, CUCM, SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes) DESIRED SKILLS: General understanding of F5 LTM/GTM load balancers General understanding of Data Centers and WLAN Knowledge of ServiceNow trouble-ticketing database system used for Incident and Change Management General understanding of the overall industry direction with regard to telecommunication technologies and the applications they will support. Knowledge of Cisco products (2800, 3700, 3900, 4500, 5300, 7200, ASR, Meraki) Good written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively document network outages and activities performed to restore outages Excellent customer care skills including experience taking customer related technical calls. Previous networking experience in NOC / NCC environment

JOB DUTIES: This position is located within a 24x7x365 network monitoring and support center. The Network Control Center (NCC) supports the Macy s Department Stores network. This position requires the incumbent to demonstrate expertise in both LAN and WAN using network tools to monitor and operate network sites supported by all network devices. Network troubleshooting is required to support Macy s environment. The following job functions and activities will be required by the incumbent to perform, on a daily basis: Responsible for proactively monitoring 6000+ network devices at 600+ Macy s locations Provide 1st through 3rd level technical support for the MST network, including troubleshooting data, sd-wan, voice, video, wireless, retail next cameras, e-sign gateway, F5 load balancers and cloud routing Documentation of customer issues, network problems in Telecommunication proprietary systems and ServiceNow platform for troubleshooting incidents/problems and tracking. Monitoring and troubleshooting DS0 s, T1 s, SIP, PIP, EVPL, Fiber, P2P, Telecommunication, EVDO, Fixed Wireless backup and DSLs circuits Responsible for customer LAN, data center, wireless environment, LAN equipment (Meraki, Nexus Switches etc) and F5 LTM/GTM load balancers Responsible for engaging vendor support (Cisco TAC, IBM Support, etc) and working through equipment related problems Responsible for engaging carrier and vendor support (Telecommunication, Lumen, LEC/CLECs support groups, IBM, Cisco, Client etc.) support groups to aid in circuit and equipment trouble diagnosis and repair Responsible for sending text/email pages to personnel with outage information, updates and or on call engineer engagement Responsible for running outage teleconference bridges effectively and professionally Responsible for taking customer calls and answering chat messages to understand technical related issues Ability to work in a team environment as well as individually taking ownership of issues towards resolution Responsible for completing daily / nightly turn over ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
