We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Service Writer to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in automotive service and repair, with excellent customer service skills. As a Service Writer, you will serve as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their needs are met while effectively communicating with our service technicians. Your expertise in automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge will be essential in providing accurate estimates and recommendations for vehicle maintenance and repairs. The ideal candidate will also need to focus on retaining and building our customer base.
Responsibilities
Greet customers and assess their service needs to provide exceptional customer service.
Create detailed estimates by documenting customer concerns, vehicle issues, and recommended services using our shop software.
Efficiently schedule jobs using our shop software
Order parts.
Receive/return parts as needed.
Facilitate warranty jobs from start to finish.
Communicate effectively with service technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and repair of vehicles.
Ensure that the technicians are following policies and procedures
Provide customers with clear explanations of services performed, including upselling additional services when appropriate.
Handle cash/card transactions & maintain accurate records of all services.
Assist in managing the workflow of the service department to ensure timely completion of repairs.
Stay updated on automotive technology and repair techniques to provide informed recommendations.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Other duties as assigned, such as inventory, end of day procedures/closing, test drives, etc.

Strong background in auto service writing with knowledge of automotive repair processes.
Experience in upselling services and products to enhance customer satisfaction.
Mechanic experience or familiarity with automotive diagnostics.
Solid mechanical knowledge related to vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake repair, transmissions, alignment, suspension, tire service, diesel engine repair, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repair.
Customer service experience with a focus on building relationships and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Proficiency in auto estimating and sales within the automotive field.
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
Ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm
