Now Hiring: Purchasing Agent – Custom Millwork & Cabinetry Shop
We’re a busy, high-quality millwork and cabinetry company seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent to join our team. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and skilled at sourcing materials efficiently while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Source and purchase lumber, hardware, veneers, finishes, and other millwork materials.
2. Maintain accurate inventory levels and coordinate with production to meet project timelines.
3. Negotiate pricing and contracts with vendors and suppliers.
4. Review job schedules and shop drawings to forecast material needs.
5. Track purchase orders and ensure on-time deliveries.
6. Work closely with project managers, estimators, and shop supervisors to support workflow efficiency.
Qualifications:
1. Previous experience in purchasing for a millwork, cabinetry, or construction environment required.
2. Strong understanding of woodworking materials and hardware.
3. Excellent negotiation, communication, and record-keeping skills.
4. Proficiency in QuickBooks, Excel, and/or other purchasing or ERP software.
5. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced shop environment.
