About Us
R1 Mortuary Transportation Services provides professional, compassionate mortuary removal and transport services throughout South Florida. We support funeral homes, hospitals, hospices, and families during sensitive and emotional moments. We are seeking a reliable Bilingual Mortuary Removal Assistant to support our main driver in Miami.
Position Summary
The Mortuary Removal Assistant works closely with the lead driver to safely and respectfully assist in the removal and transportation of deceased individuals. This role requires sensitivity, physical strength, professionalism, and strong communication skills—especially with Spanish-speaking families and facilities.
Schedule
On-call hours: Monday and Wednesday — daytime hours to start
Additional shifts available as the company grows.
Responsibilities
Assist the lead driver with removals from homes, hospitals, nursing facilities.
Communicate clearly with Spanish- and English-speaking families and facility staff
Lift, transfer, and secure decedents onto stretchers and into removal vehicles
Maintain a calm, respectful, and professional demeanor at all times
Prepare and clean equipment and support with basic documentation
Follow all safety protocols and company procedures
Ensure confidentiality and sensitivity in every situation
Qualifications
Bilingual (Spanish & English) required
Must be at least 21 years old
Ability to lift 100+ lbs with assistance
Professional appearance and strong interpersonal skills
Comfortable working around deceased individuals
Available for on-call daytime hours on Monday and Wednesday
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record preferred
Experience in mortuary, medical, EMS, hospice, or security is a plus, but not required—training provided
