Department profile: CTS Chief of Staff & Technology Controls is part of Wealth Management Technology that focuses on reducing risk, improve resiliency, and build automation to ensure efficiency and stability within the WM Technology organization.

Position: Technology Risk and Data Privacy – Governance, Implementation and Execution Lead

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Identify and Assess At-Risk Client Data stored in WM Applications beyond the firms’ data and information retention policy and guidelines
  • Scrutinize Client Data Sets for PII and Non-PII and take appropriate action to eliminate data security risk
  • Comprehensively research shortcomings in Data Life Cycle implementation standards across the Wealth Management Platform in partnership with Risk, Business and Application Teams
  • Take inputs from SME’s and drive towards an end to end solution with all key stakeholders
  • Lead, facilitate and drive building out a comprehensive Data Purge Framework in partnership with impacted WM Application Teams, Partners and Vendors
  • Execute data purge activity across all impacted applications at regular cadence to address data security risk at source
  • Lead end-to-end automation of data purge execution efforts across all impacted applications and platforms
  • Continuously iterate and collaborate with Product, Risk and Technology Teams on improving the data purge framework
  • Collaborate closely within Technology to implement adequate data purge/security features and controls are built-in as part of SDLC Framework
  • Proactively engage with stakeholders from all levels of the organization, ranging from C-suite professionals through to developers
  • Enhance the risk awareness across WM Technology organization through education and quick reference guides
  • Proactively work on identifying data security gaps and partner with Business and Technology teams to come-up with sound solutions that addresses root cause
  • Instrument innovative approaches and implement sound data hygiene processes that are simple, impactful and scalable
  • Drive Program Delivery as a key liaison / glue between Risk, Business, Technology and Infrastructure teams to ensure all stakeholders are informed and are on the same page
  • Partner with Technology Risk, Information Security and Cyber Security teams and provide support in resolving long-standing and emergent issues stemming from Regulatory and/or IT Audits

Qualifications

Skills Required:
  • 8+ years of solid IT Development/Project Management experience within a Financial Services or Brokerage Firm
  • Familiarity of Wealth Management Technology platform is a plus
  • Hands-On exposure in building full stack applications within a controlled enterprise wide system infrastructure, data processing and technology framework
  • Quick learner with good curiosity and strong passion for solving complex problems
  • Excellent Data Analysis skills – Mining and Querying data in SQL and Charting in Excel
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Desire to contribute to a dynamic team and bring strong leadership

Skills Desired:
  • Practical Agile Scrum Master Experience
  • Resourcing and Budgeting Experience is a plus
  • Technology risk / control qualifications (CISA, CRISC, CISSP, CISM)
  • Operational Risk knowledge with an ability to identify risks
