You partner with internal product groups and engineering teams to develop technical designs for top priority projects, while advocating alignment with enterprise standards. You'll collaborate with Development, Product, Engineering, and Architecture teams to provide the right level of agility within a defined delivery process. In this role, you will:- Be encouraged to understand, evolve and support platforms hosted within AWS. Responsible for custom ETL and data warehouse development/analysis using a wide range of technologies- Must be comfortable with Cloud based solutions, AWS architecture and toolsets. Use your strong leadership skills and the ability to plan and execute in a sophisticated, fast-paced environment.- Drive toward uniform enterprise design and ensure standards are developed, implemented and maintained.- Work with development and operations to continue to educate and evolve the underlying technology to take advantage of new features that may provide a more secure, scalable and highly available platform for our customers.- Provide technical leadership to the application development, support and operations teams to insure appropriate architectural patterns are being implemented based on enterprise standards- Review designs, support / operations approach and practices, make recommendations and partner with teams to drive improvements- Proactively monitor performance of all components within the Insights platform and work with operations, FTS, professional services and development to investigate performance issues and potential capacity bottlenecks.- Promptly complete administrative tasks as required such as time reporting, project status tracking and billable requests.- Other duties as assigned by the manager. Basic qualifications for consideration:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 10 years of work experience.Experience interacting with customers a to analyze, validate, specify, verify, document and lead solution requirements.Hands-on technical expertise developing responsive web applications, including the design of the front-end presentation layer using modern techniques and integrating with back-end services and data sources in API-based architecture that is hosted on AWS Cloud Platform.Extensive experience with web-based systems architectures, service-based architectures including microservices & enterprise application architecture.Expertise in Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture and Object-Oriented Design Principles and Patterns.Extensive proven experience in Java. Experience with JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React.Modeling logical transactions in distributed systems, understanding impact of latency, consistency and availability tradeoffs.Understanding of Event Sourcing and Saga patterns, understanding benefits and limitations of two-phase commit. Experience with distributed cache platforms such as Redis.Designing API interfaces using Swagger/RAML, understanding of API authorization and access control patterns, familiarity with industry standard API gateway.Hands-on experience with AWS Platform and Services including but not limited to Compute (Lambda, EC2, Batch), Security (IAM, WAF, Secrets Manager), VPC, Route 53, CloudWatch, Cloud Trail, SNS, SQS, S3, RDS, ELK, API Gateway. Experience in development and design in an Agile and DevOps environment, including change and release management.Experience with DevOps Pipeline, GIT, JIRA is a significant plus.Platform modernization experience in taking legacy applications to distributed solutions (SaaS, PaaS) is a significant plus.
