Our client is hiring an IT Operations Specialist (Overnight Shift) on a Long-Term Contract Basis Location: AlpharettaWere currently looking for someone to fill our open nightshift position. The hours are Tuesday- Saturday from 9:30pm 6am. Overtime is available, however its not mandatory.Position is on site in Alpharetta Essential responsibilities:

  • Hotline support - receive calls from various IT groups and vendors regarding faulty service or equipment alerts.
  • Vendor callouts callout to vendors when alerts found on hardware devices.
  • Incident management and documentation document all incident events, schedule change orders, escort vendors.
  • CMDB updates Update DB when new hardware is deployed or decommissioned.
  • This position will be 3rd shift (weekends). The candidate will be trained Monday-Thursday (first and second shift), and when deemed ready, will transition to a Thursday-Sunday 8p-6:30a schedule. The candidate must have flexibility in event the business need dictates a change in the schedule.
Other responsibilities:
  • Assist implementation and design engineers in hardware deployment activities
  • Assist shipping / receiving at loading dock (ability to lift 50lbs).
Candidate Qualities:
  • Strong communication skills:
    • This role involves extensive communication between vendors, command centers, engineers and sometimes senior mgmt. (if outage situation).
    • Turnover notes will be taken, describing all incidents, scheduled events and other day to day operational tasks/events.
    • Comprehension skills Candidate must be aware and understand all activities occurring on their shift.
    • Ability to work well with others, as part of a team (to support all above mentioned responsibilities)
  • Organizational skills:
    • Multi-tasking abilities are imperative and will be exercised on a daily basis. Multiple calls will come in at same time, all while working another incident.
    • Attention to detail- Its possible to overlook the obvious. Candidate must be organized enough to prevent this.
    • Ability to retain information There is lots of information exchanged across several business units, hardware platforms and amongst our peers. Candidate must be able to document/retain information in a professional manner (no post its across the desk!)
  • Energetic
    • The DC is a 200,000 sq ft facility. IT Ops is responsible for shipping / receiving, escorting vendors and other tasks which involve lots of walking.
  • Technical aptitude
    • Candidate must be well versed in IT. Understands common components, terminology, industry trends.
    • Server knowledge is preferred, but not required. Common hardware components, how they work, diagnostics & troubleshooting. Broad but shallow knowledge on all other platforms is ok
