Our client has an excellent opportunity for a Java Software Architect to work hybrid on an initial 6-month contract-to-hire. Our client is an established global industry leader with a great culture, work-from-home flexibility, and a start-up feel. The Software Architect will be responsible for documenting both high-level and low-level design based on the requirements from the Program Management/Customer.
This position requires three days a week onsite in Alpharetta and allows for two days a week to work from home. Candidates must be local to metro Atlanta or willing to relocate to metro Atlanta. Responsibilities:- Understands the business requirements from the Product Management/Customer, converts them into and end-to-end functional specifications and technical design/architecture.
- Serves as the Technical Expert establishing technical directions/roadmap for the product, explains it to the development team and monitor/guide/coach the team in all the phases of implementation
- Continuously monitors and improves current architecture and design; this implies being pro-active in applying new technologies, patterns, tools, and methodologies.
- Must be hands-on and actively contributes to design and development. This implies coding and QA skills.
- B.S. in Computer Science or a related degree (M.S. preferred, PhD desired)
- Application layer using Java/J2EE, Multi-threading, Spring, JPA, JDBC, Hibernate, Jquery, CXF, ActiveMQ and API technologies
- Database (Oracle, SQL)
- Web rich UI (Java, Javascript, Javascript libraries, AngularJS, GWT/GXT, Spring MVC, HTML5, DOJO, JQuery)
- Agile practitioner
- Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience in any of the cloud platforms: Google Cloud Platform, Azure, AWS
- NoSQL database such as Cassandra
