Molecular Specialist (MS) primary area of focus & responsibility is selling capital equipment into hospitals, regional reference labs and large centralized POL groups within their individual territory. Key emphasis is sales of capital equipment for molecular, microbiology, and Infectious Disease software as well as other related laboratory products and services. Focus is to gain new prospect lab business to ensure growth within the territory, and retain existing capital customers by upgrading or extending terms.Achieve Results: Meet or exceed sales targets for assigned territory through sales of preferred manufacturer partner equipment in the critical access & community hospital, regional reference laboratory and large centralized POL customer segments/markets.Develop New Accounts: Develop and execute multi-department sales call plans and key account strategies to specifically add new accounts and sales revenue to their territory.Penetration & Growth: Implement McKesson sales strategies, educate and convert the customer base and gain greater account penetration. Develop strategies with clients aimed at servicing and accelerating overall business processes to enhance growth. Bundling multiple products and services is key to role and customer growth.Leverage: Work with key manufacture partners, GPO partners, and other McKesson resources to help increase sales for McKesson and collective organizations. Collaboration amongst Account Manager team, working to prospect, strategize and implement key initiatives to ensure budget attainment.Proficiency: Master technical and industry knowledge in order to position McKesson's LAB value proposition to targeted customers. Perform field promotion work, demonstrate products/services, provide assistance in the best application of products/services and manage questions regarding products/services. Perform sales cycle from start to finish - develop interest, demonstrations, financials, negotiation and close.QualificationsMinimum Requirements2+ years technical product sales experienceCritical Skills Demonstrated experience and success selling capital equipment and/or conceptual-based products in an acute care setting Strong knowledge of laboratory diagnostics and operations of reference laboratories Ability to work in a team selling environment, and strategically build relationships with account managers, sales leadership, customers, vendors, and GPO partners Ability to take ownership, influence others, and drive the sales process from inception to close Proven experience working in complex situations and negotiating with senior level decision makers Financial acumen and strong group presentation skills Must be performance driven with a proven track record of success from previous roles and ability to consistently achieve sales objectivesAdditional Knowledge & Skills Diagnostic Manufacturer experience Medical Technologist certification Distribution experience Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point proficiency Utilization of CRM & forecasting tools experienceEducation4-year degree in business or related field or equivalent experiencePhysical Requirements Must be able to travel daily within assigned territory with several overnights weekly- 65%- 70%General Office DemandsMcKesson is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
