I/S provides the information technology required for all Publix business units including retail stores and all office and warehouse environments. The Publix I/S mission is to maximize the value of information technology to Publix associates and customers. Apple Systems Engineering involves defining, developing, maintaining, and advising on the effective use of Apple devices and computers within the Publix Information technology architecture.

  • Software and hardware architecture design, installation, configuration, integration, and support
  • Enterprise system management
  • Problem determination and resolution
  • Project team leadership and participation
  • Technical leadership with other engineers in specific disciplines
  • New technology awareness, research, and system integration with a focus on system security
  • Bachelors Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or other analytical discipline, or equivalent experience,
  • Minimum 2 years of experience supporting iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and macOS operating systems and hardware platforms in a large corporate environment
  • Minimum 2 years of experience managing and securing, and configuring iOS, iPadOS, tvOS, and macOS devices with a Mobile Device Management solution
  • Development experience with Python, AppleScript, BASH/ZSH scripts.
  • 2-5 years of experience designing, planning, implementing, and supporting large releases,
  • experience securing diverse technologies, platforms, and applications,
  • in-depth experience implementing, migrating, managing, and administering the macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS operating systems in a large corporate environment,
  • experience supporting desktop productivity software (Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, Safari, font management tools, etc.),
  • in-depth knowledge of development tools such as Visual Studio, Xamarin, or Xcode.
  • in-depth knowledge of Apple hardware (MacBook, iMac, iPad, iPhone, etc.),
  • experience with automating application installation and configuration,
  • experience with Jamf Pro and Apple Configurator
  • experience designing, documenting, managing, and deploying macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and tvOS updates,
  • ability to anticipate and identify issues that conflict with security and compliance requirements,
  • ability to resolve complex business and technical issues by making decisions using sound business judgment,
  • in-depth understanding of System Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies,
  • experience in forecasting, planning, and managing hardware and software budgets,
  • experience leading projects from requirements through implementation,
  • experience working in a process structured environment which includes Change Management, Incident/ Problem Management and Disaster Recovery Preparedness, solid understanding of the functional and operational practices necessary to operate in a highly available, highly secure, and highly regulated environment to meet business and compliance requirements
