Position Information:

Project Name: DevOps Support to Financial Risk & Management Systems (FRMS)

Project Description: Sr. DevOps Engineers will be responsible for the deployment, monitoring, troubleshooting, automating and maintenance of critical enterprise application platforms in production. This role will work collaboratively with software developers to deploy and operate our core systems, help automate and streamline our operations and process and build and maintain tools for deployment, monitoring, and operations, troubleshoot and resolve issues in our development, test, QA, and production environments. You will be tasked with being the subject matter expert for our Azure environments. You will also be working with our Professional Services and Product Departments to provide feedback on our build pipeline and collaborate on improving our internal tools. You will be a part of a team that builds and supports new applications in the Azure cloud.

Responsibilities:
  • Demonstrating your experience in runtime, build and deployment technologies and state-of-the-art project tools: Azure CI/CD, GIT, Jenkins, Maven
  • Utilizing your scripting Skills: Strong scripting (e.g. Python, bash or PowerShell) and automation skills.
  • Utilizing your knowledge in Cloud and Cloud Orchestration Tools (Terraform, etc.), Containerization Docker/Kubernetes/AKS, ELK stack Grafanna, Splunk.
  • Analyzing and resolving complex infrastructure and application issues.
  • Using your strong communication skills, team spirit and empathy to collaborate with multiple teams.
  • Planning, highlighting and implementing possible improvements for existing and new applications.
  • Act as a Subject Matter Expert in Azure for the Hosted Operations Team
  • Gather feedback from the department on areas of improvement and provide solutions utilizing Azure
  • Serve as a point of escalation for complex Azure cases
  • Participate in inter-departmental planning meetings on suggested solutions for existing issues as well as systemic and process improvements
  • Work with internal team on identifying pain points in Azure deployments and configuration and ways to alleviate them
  • Maintain and enhance current client environment configurations
  • Organize and execute training sessions for new workflows and procedure recommendations
  • Participate in an on-call rotation

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure platform
  • 1+ years of hands-on experience with Windows or Linux administration, Engineering, and Automation
  • Experience with CICD concepts and tools such as Azure DevOps and Octopus.
  • Familiarity with container orchestration services, especially Kubernetes
  • Experience with infrastructure scripting solutions such as PowerShell or Python
  • Strong understanding of the OSI Model and how it relates to cloud computing
  • Understanding network topologies and common network protocols and services (DNS, HTTP(S), SSH, FTP, SMTP).
  • Specialist in Azure Monitor, this will include configuring and maintaining the following: diagnostic settings, Log Analytics, Application Insights and writing Log Analytics queries via Kusto Query Language
  • Expert working with Azure App Service - diagnose and remediate resource contention issues and Identify failures in application logs
  • Expert level in Azure Resource Manager (ARM) Templates
  • Solid experience as a DevOps Engineer in a 24x7 uptime environment, including automation experience with configuration management tools.
  • Experience with Azure Policy and Security Center
  • Proficiency with AWS management (EC2, SNS/SQS, RDS) or willingness to learn
  • Experience with a distributed management system
