It's twelve years later and we've developed a completely new embedded system driving a new lineup of dispensers. We're looking for passionate and experienced individuals to help the Freestyle fleet continue to be a best in class offering to our customers and consumers. Open the door of a Freestyle dispenser and you'll find the latest cloud, web, IoT and embedded technologies directing an orchestra of motors, sensors, and precision pumps to create a virtually unlimited selection of beverages. If you're inquisitive, ambitious, and excited by REST endpoints that open doors, run compressors and pump fluids then this may be the job for you!Minimum Qualifications:•Computer Science degree, Computer Engineering degree, or three years of industry experience.•Strong knowledge of IoT devices including knowledge in OS (Linux), at least one software language (Java preferred), and device management systems.•Fluent in REST APIs, shell scripting, SQL, and basic computer networking.•Experience working in a QA/testing environment and ticketing system (such as JIRA).•Experience working in production systems.•Ability to triage problems, prioritize accordingly, and propose a resolution.•Ability to analyze a dataset and communicate the results to a non-technical audience.•Ability to work independently, raise issues and take corrective action.•Detail oriented, analytical, and creative thinker with passion for embedded devices.Highly Preferred Qualifications:•Experience automating commands and API calls to achieve tasks on a remote embedded device.•Strong working knowledge of unix command line tools.•Programming experience in web based programming languages such as PHP.•Working knowledge of common AWS services such as S3/Redshift/EC2/ECS/RDS/Etc.•Knowledge of cellular networks with a focus on M2M devices.Responsibilities:As a Device Management Engineer you will work directly with the device management team and fleet operations teams to monitor deployments to devices, troubleshoot issues with specific devices, identify issues that can be addressed remotely, and design and submit corrections to issues.•Monitor field devices for defects, recreate the defect in a test environment, and raise defects to development resources and vendors.•Analyze dispenser logs to assist development resources in defect debugging.•Support field escalation process and manage device defects from creation to resolution related to connectivity and device management.•Provide support for field resources, when appropriate.•Provide feedback on existing toolsets to drive improvements.•Grow to be the subject matter expert of the embedded system and the dispenser functionality.
