Business Analyst consults with internal customers and external vendors to capture agreed-upon business objectives and processes. Communicates processes and their implications to technical and non-technical contributors to ensure that applications accurately meet business users goals. Performs stakeholder analysis to understand impacts of system changes to functional teams. Creates program level communications to update users and team on system enhancements and process changes. Business Analysts can create system requirements, collaborating with the design teams to determine that application, database, & other system impacts based on the requirements. The Business Analyst works with other members of the technical teams to ensure all requirements are addressed in the solution design.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Develop Program level communications to update user community of on-going enhancements, changes and activities related to the project.
  • Identify project stakeholders, risks and benefits of alternate designs; document assumptions; assess project impact of system changes to users, internal and external customers
  • Conduct System Requirements (SRQ) reviews with project stakeholders and document consumers to ensure completeness and adherence to business requirements
  • Consult with internal customers, cross-functional team members and external vendors to capture agreed-upon business objectives and processes to define system requirements
  • Update and map SRQs to Business Requirements in the Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM)
  • Review Architecture, Engineering and Application Development designs and QA / UAT test plans to ensure requirements are met and the RTM is updated as required
  • Provide BA support for software testing and debugging plans to ensure requirements are met
  • Provide status reporting for project progress, issues, dependencies and risks
  • Proactively analyzes and documents solutions
  • Identifies risks/pitfalls and articulates possible options
  • Participates in business strategy & portfolio level discussions
  • Knowledge of the business may be deep in one functional area with broad understanding of other functional areas.
  • Knowledge sharing and mentoring of lower level team members is customary
  • Sphere of relationship and influence is within team, with key stakeholders & with senior management
  • May facilitate meetings

Qualifications:

Minimum
  • 5 or more year of experience preferred in related field
  • 3 or more years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree
  • Requires strong knowledge of database and database management
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaborative skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization

Preferred
  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).
  • Experience in telecommunications industry desired.
