Role Summary: Cox Communications is looking for a Data Scientist who will be a core member of the Consumer Analytics team. This role will be responsible for building advanced analytical solutions at scale using cutting edge data science methodologies in the cloud. The Data Scientist is required to have strong skills in advanced analytics algorithms, tools, and technologies to drive solution development at scale.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop advanced analytical models and solutions via transformation, statistical analysis, data mining, visualization, optimization and related analytical techniques to solve complex business challenges.
  • Use foundational data science methodologies to identify relationships/drivers of key metrics as it relates to marketing objectives.
  • Build analytics processes for knowledge discovery, decision-making, insights, monitoring, and new capabilities to accelerate and scale analytics offerings
  • Construct explanatory models to be leveraged by the business.
  • Identify and explain key performance indicators affecting the business to non-analytical audiences.
  • Gather business requirements and translate into analytical solution
  • Develop presentations and communicate findings to the business.
  • Help train and coach other members on the team
  • Receive high-level directions from the manager, but work independently in tactical and day-to-day tasks for the assigned projects.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and Identify new capabilities for automation and optimize processes

    Qualifications:

    Minimum:

    • Undergraduate degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or closely related field
    • 2+ years of experience required in related field
    • Strong programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of data/analytic software/languages/tools; e.g., Python, SageMaker, Spark, R, SQL, etc. Experience with writing complex programs in at least one of these environments
    • Strong understanding of the mathematical and computational concepts behind advanced analytics algorithms
    • Excellent statistical skills grounded in a thorough understanding of test design and analysis.
    • Experience using cloud computing to build analytics applications
    • Strong communication skills. The ability to comprehend and communicate advanced analytics artifacts, business insights, and resulting implications to non-technical business partners. Ability to work in a diverse team

    Preferred:
    • Graduate degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Analytics, Statistics, Engineering or closely related field
    • Experience developing enterprise grade analytics solutions in AWS
    • Experience in data visualization tools
