We want to put the internet in the things that talented people use to Make the World.As the IoT Solution Architect for Smart Devices at SBD GTS Digital, your primary role will be to asses and integrate the evolution of IoT technologies into industry leading products across our vast portfolio of tools and solutions. You'll work with internal stakeholders, 3rd party technology partners, and in-house development to increase subject matter expertise and expand our connected product ecosystem.

What You'll DoAs an IoT Solution Architect for Smart Devices, you'll be part of our GTS Digital team located in Atlanta GA. You'll get to:
  • Work with application developers, hardware engineering, and platform services teams design and deliver end-to-end IoT solutions.
  • Design and communicate technical features and requirements into non-technical functions to ensure buy-in across the stake holders.
  • Design, develop, and support IOT system architecture upstream of the smart device.
  • Understand IOT hardware, chipsets, and protocols and collaboratively develop a framework to support a broader system architecture.
  • Collaborate across teams to ensure development and deployment is supported within the architecture and consistent across multiple platforms to evolve the architecture as new requirements emerge.
  • Work with various Centers of Excellence around Software, UI/UX, Cloud, and Cybersecurity to align with and refine best practices.
  • Define cloud and solution deliverables to integrate smart device solutions.
  • Support development of backend cloud services as it relates to the connectivity of IOT devices.
  • Support development of front-end client-side software, integrations, and mobile apps as it relates to connectivity and visualization of IOT data and devices
  • Interface with product and engineering teams during design rounds to clarify industry frameworks and standardized architectures, and support discerning interoperability and integration opportunities from pitfalls
  • Drive value and functionality in the areas of IoT connectivity, cloud integrations, global and scalable deployments, and device intelligence
  • Work with technical and business teams, and other cross-functional teams bringing world-class products to market, participate in product launches and operational transfer
  • Support and promote connectivity adoption and feature integration into a wide range of solutions through marketing channels, customer surveys and profiling, sample application, code samples, and technical documentation
Who You Are
  • Protector and champion of the value and the integrity of data
  • Seasoned Technical Leader in the field of IoT or M2M
  • Prior experience developing connected solutions or products for different verticals and market segments
  • Deep understanding of IoT ecosystem including the key challenges as it relates to monetization, connectivity, common security issues, processes and business problems
  • Good understanding of end-to-end security from devices to network through cloud services and applications
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering teams, with an excellent grasp on how infrastructure, hardware, Software-as-a-Service, Platform-as-a-Service as interrelated
  • Skilled influencer and facilitator with ability to promote and describe IoT benefits, direction and capabilities
  • Capable of translating non-functional parameters from product management such as scalability, performance, security, availability, reliability into sound architecture for different environments (on-premises, edge, fog and cloud)
  • Demonstrated command of state-of-the-art cloud-native design principles, including stateless micro-services architecture, RESTful API design, NoSQL database replication, geo-redundancy, graceful degradation, circuit breaker, load balancing, high availability and disaster recovery
  • Ability to understand different customer industries, e.g. construction, infrastructure, industrial, healthcare and retail; relevant experience with the Construction market
  • Familiarity with different digital and IoT product business models - subscription, outcome-based, pay-per-usage, asset sharing, "razor blade", data monetization
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience architecting complex IOT solutions
  • Minimum of 3 years of Digital Product Management experience
Preferred Experience In
  • A variety of IoT commercial products implementations, solution architectures and/or designs, SaaS integrations
  • Breaking down complex concepts into digestible and actionable architectural components
  • Hands on Experience with API services and event-driven architecture
  • Knowledge of IoT software and hardware lifecycles
  • Designing with Security, Safety, and Reliability concepts.
  • Hands-on experience applying network theory and wireless communications
  • Working with IoT hardware solutions and communication protocols such as Wi-Fi, BLE, Z-Wave, ZigBee, LoRA
  • Working with complex API centric connected infrastructure and cloud-based services like Azure, AWS, Google Cloud
  • Experience and knowledge on IoT Edge frameworks
