You have a passion for identifying opportunities to make data-driven decisions and partnering to turn their needs into opportunities. Primary duties may include, but are not limited to:
  • Lead solution development across multiple analytical projects
  • Collaborate with business and Digital partners
  • Participate in governance activities.
  • Develop relationships with the business to better understand needed capabilities
  • Provides detail analysis of efficiencies related to system enhancement/automation.
  • Implement UI feature-function for an Anthem analytic platform
  • Develops the architecture frameworks required to implement large complex cross-functional analytic projects
  • Collaborates with delivery teams and ensure that the delivery of platform components aligns with the needs of those consuming teams
  • Prototype, and in some cases fully develop, software components for reuse across IT delivery teams
  • Wrangles big data to support new modeling/analytic development
  • Completion of source to target mapping across core systems
  • Understanding of ETL and data cleaning methods
  • Participates in integrating activities with other IT departments for successful implementation and support of project efforts
  • Responsible for participating in all phases of the design and development life cycle of analytic applications and reporting tools
  • Utilize various BI technology platforms

Qualifications
  • Requires Bachelor's degree in related field; 8 years of experience in software development /design in relevant technology disciplines; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
  • MS/MA degree preferred.
  • 3-5years developing of complex UI applications
  • Recent hands-on JavaScript/UI development essential (e.g., Sencha, Angular)
  • Recent hands-on Java development experience essential
  • Recent hands-on Data Engineering experience (e.g., Hadoop, SQL)
  • Experience with services development
  • Analytic or Business intelligence skills are a plus
  • Experience with implementation of big data technologies is a plus
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • A positive outlook, a passion for development and the ability to work as part of a high-performance team.
  • A sense of urgency, curiosity, and passion for our work
  • Healthcare experience preferred

The Engineer Lead is a hands-on development role that design, prototype, and develop software components that organize and rationalize Anthem systems and information assets in the Program Integrity domain to make a difference in our member's lives. Deliverables can include technical evaluations, software components, prototypes, technical recommendations, operational business architecture, and technology assessments. As part of interview process, there will be a Technical Assessment given.
