Requisition Number: 217445 Description Role Summary: Cox Communications, Analytics Center of Excellence (ACoE) is looking for a Lead Data Scientist to join the Supply Chain Analytics team. This role will be working closely with the broader supply chain organization at Cox Communications to deliver cloud-based scalable analytics solutions. The Lead Analytics Engineer should be a proven data scientist with cloud data engineering skills to lead, design, develop, and operationalize supply chain analytics software products. This is a hands-on role, requiring working closely with cross-functional technology and business teams daily. Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical leadership in architecting, building, testing, and deploying production-grade Demand Forecasting, and Machine Learning models on AWS to help answer business-critical questions from the supply chain organization at Cox Communications
  • Lead key supply chain analytics initiatives by partnering closely with the business and technology stakeholders to understand and effectively communicate requirements, progress, challenges, and business outcomes on time
  • Work closely with, mentor, and lead the internal team members to develop and deliver analytics applications successfully by providing thought leadership and technical support
  • Utilize Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices to mature enterprise-grade analytics solutions from proof-of-concept to production
  • Automate manual tasks and processes into repeatable and reproducible capabilities
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations to the team on leveraging new tools, technologies, development standards, solutions, and best practices
Qualifications Minimum:

  • 7+ years of experience working in the Data Science or Machine Learning Engineering space with hands-on experience in building, and deploying advanced analytics models on cloud platforms
  • 5+ years of experience working as a senior/lead Data Scientist or Analytics Engineer with exposure to Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) principles
  • Proven ability to work with diverse and cross-functional teams, project stakeholders, and boundary partners to effectively identify/communicate technical challenges and coming up with solutions to resolve those challenges
  • Hands-on programming skills and ability to utilize a variety of data, analytics software, coding languages, and statistical tools. Deep experience with at least one of Python, PySpark, Scala or R, Gremlin (bonus), SQL (mandatory). Bonus points for experience with Tensorflow, Tableau, Docker containers, and Cloud ML services (e.g. AWS SageMaker, Google Datalab, Azure ML, etc.).
  • Strong communication skills. The ability to comprehend and communicate advanced analytics artifacts, business insights, and resulting implications to non-technical business partners. Ability to work with diverse and cross-functional teams
Preferred:
  • Graduate degree in Data Science, Analytics, Statistics, Operations Research, Supply Chain Engineering, Computer Science, or any other closely related field
  • Experience developing enterprise-grade analytics solutions on cloud platforms (preferably AWS)
  • Experience leading a data science or analytics team with exposure to agile delivery methodology
  • Experience building visualizations on popular BI tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
  • Bonus: Familiarity with supply chain-related analytics use-cases including demand forecasting, inventory optimization, scenario planning, and predictive maintenance
  • Bonus: Experience with Source Version Control software like Git or Bitbucket and CICD pipelines like Jenkins
  • Bonus: Familiarity with identifying and developing re-usable data pipelines/frameworks, ETL and ML frameworks that can accelerate analytics product development velocity
