Requisition Number: 215965 Cox Communications is searching for a Lead Infrastructure Data Engineer, to join the Engineering Enablement Solutions Team in Engineering Enablement. You will execute the work and serve as the lead SME to leverage new and existing database platforms, tools and data sources to collect, analyze, interpret and in some cases, design Engineering data through tools and applications to end users. You will be responsible for determining how data is captured, used and how best to deliver the content to enable leaderships performance management activities, with advanced understanding of data warehouse concepts, reusable schema and SQL development. You will be a technical contributor who can drive and deliver on the needs of the organization. You will communicate well with Engineering leadership at all levels. You should have a strong understanding of Engineering processes, programs and tools and will be working on performance management activities that include, but are not limited to Strategic Platform, Plan of Intent to Plan of Record Processes, Supply Chain Order History, Long Range Planning Cost Model, and Change Control Review Board for Engineering. You should have experience working directly with large volumes of data using SQL and tools such as, but not limited to Toad, Informatica and Tableau.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: - Translate business logic into dashboards, charts, reports and presentations in support of Engineering department using MS SQL Server - Create tools with effective visualization and logical layout to tell data stories aligning to business goals - Create, maintain and support data architecture and schema metadata for various EES tools/products - Read and write advanced SQL queries with multiple joins to automate/manipulate data extracts - Perform end to end data validation to maintain accuracy of data - Perform what if scenarios, impact analysis, and risk/benefit analysis on future solutions and integrations to existing systems - Design and build working prototypes including, but not limited to ETL solutions, SQL server, and excel VBA - Identify, research, and resolve discrepancies in data - Understand the existing source system data models and be able to consolidate on reports and dashboards - Work in partnership with the other teams and stakeholders concerning the accuracy of data and efficiency of processes - Present Engineering reporting and insights to leadership and other business partners

Qualifications:

Minimum: - 8 or more years of experience in related field (i.e., data analysis, metrics, etc.); 5 or more years of experience if candidate possesses a related advanced degree - Excellent communication (written and verbal) and presentation skills - Demonstrated experience working directly with leadership and supporting multiple stakeholders. Strong analytic and diagnostic skills, and a data-driven and metrics-driven approach. - Advanced knowledge of SQL, database technologies, and data warehouse design philosophies - Advanced knowledge of relational and dimensional data modeling - Deep understanding of metrics, reporting tools and processes - Demonstrated ability to use effective visuals to tell insightful data story with logical layout - Proven ability to work efficiently, effectively, and proactively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented, dynamic and virtual environment - Proven ability to work in a cross-organizational team environment collaborating with the business leads on key deliverables pertaining to business readiness and specifically in support Engineering and other boundary partners such as Finance and Supply Chain

Preferred: - Bachelors or masters degree in Management Information Systems, Informatics, Computer Science, or similar analytical field - 5+ years of experience in creating and maintaining ETL solutions, architecture/schema, experience in VBA - Advanced knowledge of Oracle, MS SQL, MS Access Who We Are
