Cox Communications is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer III that will be responsible for implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting cloud infrastructure for virtualization platforms. This role requires familiarity with industry standards, best practices, tools, and procedures for technologies within enterprise cloud environments (Network, Storage, Hardware, Virtualization, Etc.). Previous site reliability engineering experience with ability to automate solutions is highly desirable. The Infrastructure Engineer III is expected to prioritize, plan, and execute tasks in a timely fashion under general supervision. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
  • Deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting VMware virtualization platforms
  • Deploying, maintaining, monitoring, and supporting Cisco UCS architecture
  • Employ SRE / DevOps principles to identify and automate solutions for monitoring, system availability, performance & efficiency, capacity planning, and documentation
  • Documentation of policies, processes, and procedures
  • Participating in cross-functional projects as virtualization infrastructure subject matter expert
  • Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues
  • Lifecycle management and capacity planning for virtualization platforms
  • Respond to automated notifications of problem events and resolution of those issues
  • Keep current on new technologies and training
  • Participate in 24x7 On Call support rotation

Qualifications: Minimum
  • 5+ years VMware administration / engineering experience in a large enterprise environment
  • 3+ years Cisco UCS management experience in a large enterprise environment
  • Proficiency with VMware software suite (ESXi, vCenter, vRA, vRO, vROps, vRLI, SRM, etc.)
  • Proficiency with automation tools (Ansible, PowerShell, Python, Jenkins, JavaScript, etc.)
  • Proficiency with UCS Central
  • Ability to work under pressure, reprioritize, and adjust to rapid changes in direction and deadlines
  • Ability to balance multiple high priority projects and complete on time with minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with executing projects through traditional and Agile methodologies
  • Ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical people
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
Preferred
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Docker
  • Public cloud experience (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure, etc.)
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in computer science, information technology or business information systems or related field. Engineering background preferred
