Requisition Number: 214171 The Cox Communications Data Center Engineering team is searching for a Senior Network Security Engineer to provide data and hardware configuration, policy analysis, technical guidance, lab testing, automation ideation, and fulfillment support. Remotely supporting over 20 Data Centers around the country, this position requires not just hands-on network and security systems experience, but also excellent soft-skills. You will regularly interface with internal customers, app or product owners, information security teams, as well as multiple peer network engineering and operations teams - to include Backbone, Metro, Data Center Operations, Information Security and Advanced Network Security Services teams.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: - Provide information security guidance by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends - Implement security systems and measures by participating in the enhancement of infrastructure readiness including preparation of preventive and reactive measures. - Create test plans, execute lab tests, develop low-level designs, lead field trials, support First Office Application (FOA) and transition to operations teams. - Partner with Information Security teams to perform analysis and design or redesign of network security systems, policies, and configurations. - Develops scripts or playbooks for automation of functional standards and requirements - to include, testing, configuration changes, metrics collection, and API referencing. - Supports deployments of new services, systems, applications and architectures with configuration, integration, evaluation, testing, documentation, and training. - Provide advanced troubleshooting assistance using structured methodology - Collaborates with vendors to create designs and procedures that ensure proper equipment installation and operation. - Effective written and verbal interpersonal communication skills. Experienced at writing technical proposals and documentation.

Qualifications:

Minimum: - 5+ years of experience with IP network design and management including recent experience with Cisco or Juniper implementations; as well as experience designing and implementing complex IP routing scenarios (Including: Spanning Tree, MPLS, OSPF, ISIS, RSVP, & BGP). - 5+ years of experience with security design or fulfillment (Panorama, SRX, Security Director, Tetration) - 1 year or more developing scripts (ansible, python, SQL) for playbook automation, orchestration and/or data collection. - Experience in leading complex project execution teams, ability to clearly communicate requirements, delegate work activities, and provide clarity of goals and priorities in a manner that assures timely execution of projects. - Clear understanding of modern firewall, router, and switch architecture and network design (control plane and forwarding plane separation, switch fabric design, egress queuing, IP lookup algorithms, traffic engineering, protection mechanisms, and capacity planning). - Understanding of RFC1918 and Carrier Grade NAT (CGN). - Experience with MS Office, Teams, SharePoint, as well as MS Visio and other graphical development tools. Preferred - BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly preferred (i.e. Engineering, Computer Science, or similar technical degree). - IT industry certifications a plus (i.e. CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE, JNCIP, CISSP, CEH, ITIL). - Understanding network domain segmentation, bridging services to management domains. - Experience with the following scripting/programming languages: Python, Perl, PHP, shell scripts. - Knowledge of virtualization platforms such as VMWare, Xen, KVM, etc. - Experience with Unix/Linux
