The Senior Production Support Hosted Application Engineer provides leadership and direction for Tier 3 support of current and future hosted software platforms related to customer-facing OSS technologies consisting of wireless, identity management, and email services. This position is responsible for providing direction and prioritization to third-party and internal operations teams for resolution of defects and improvements identified and required on production platforms. Serves as primary point to lead contractors and self through incident command process in event of OSS platform system degradation or outage. Includes serving as incident owner to drive impact assessment, path forward, restoration and or resolution plans. Orchestrates cross-functional fix agents and identifies needed resources to repair. Provides communication content for executive and global issue status reporting notification systems. The role is purposed to provide field and product operations with the focus to ensure highly reliable applications for our customers and the reduction of costs associated with software production defects i.e. customers calls or in home service calls. Establishes, implements, and executes technical and operating performance standards.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions: - Serves as primary point to lead contractors and self through incident command process in event of email platform system degradation or outage. Includes serving as incident owner to drive impact assessment, path forward, restoration and or resolution plans. Orchestrates cross-functional fix agents and identifies needed resources to repair. Provides communication content for executive and global issue status reporting notification systems. - Investigates complex software problems and identify faulty components. - Participates in hands-on debugging and troubleshoot efforts in the email environment. - Integrate various software components in a highly agile software development and delivery environment. - Work closely with the development, test and project management teams and assist in each wherever possible. - Write and build scripts to help automate various build processes that exist in the development environment. - Support automated continuous integration of software components by defining test suites and writing test cases and test scripts. - Analyze logs, identify defects, suggest fixes and report results. - Ensuring high quality of development and test activities. - Prioritizing a busy work schedule to meet tight deadlines. - Keep up with emerging technologies and provide beneficial input during technical discussions

Qualifications:

Minimum: - Strong analytical skills and problem solving abilities - Fluency in two or more scripting languages (Perl, BASH, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, Jython, etc.) - Familiarity with Java - SQL and thorough understanding or relational databases - Understanding of the software development life cycle - Working knowledge of software development and integration - Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to write clear and concise technical reports - Self-motivated and proactive attitude, with good interpersonal skills - Capability to efficiently manage time and to multi task

Preferred: - BS/Masters in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience. - Experience in telecommunications industry desired - Prior experience working for a service provider Who We Are
