Nexidia is looking for a Senior SDET to join our Platform Engineering Team that focuses on building feature-rich, scalable and performant software for our market-leading Data Analytics Platform.

You will join our Deployment Engineering Team working alongside experienced software engineers that are responsible for the Deployment Design of our enterprise software product. We are looking for someone who brings a passion for solving complex problems via research, test, and verification, AND can develop test automation.

This is not a traditional SDET/QA job. The SDET first and foremost will need to gain an understanding of the challenges faced when deploying our software in customer sites and understand how this impacts the testing scenarios. Your day-to-day will consist of collaborating with team members on user stories and developing and executing the test suites. You will also meet with stakeholders and users to understand their pain. The manual testing is mostly the verification and validation of our installation tools and upgrade scenarios. It is not your typical user interface validation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Think as a customer, not as tester; is the deployment stack easy enough to use and does it solve the tough problems?
  • Write and execute manual tests for User Stories and Defects
  • Develop automation tests for User Stories and Defects
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, including daily standups, grooming, and planning
  • Work closely with the development team and the Team Architect to develop quality test automation

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Minimum 5 years developing automated tests or software
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g. PowerShell)
  • Experience with any development language(s), especially C# / .NET
  • Creative problem-solving ability
  • Excellent analytical skills to root cause complex issues
  • S. Citizenship is required to access secured customer environments
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effectively manages multiple tasks under deadlines
  • Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments
  • Self-motivated

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with Microsoft Technologies
  • Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Demonstrated skill in developing, deploying, or testing enterprise distributed systems is strongly desired
  • Dev-Ops experience
  • Familiar with current Automation Stacks (Selenium, MS Ultimate desired, Jenkins)
  • Experience with deployment technologies (SALT, Puppet, Chef)
  • Experience with RDBMS (SQL Server a plus)
  • Strong time management skills with a history of meeting commitments
  • Passion for improving code quality through interaction with the development teams
  • Developing software and/or automation for a distributed environment
  • Agile software development experience

EDUCATION
  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
