Due to current COVID-19 restrictions, this is a temporary work from home role but will ultimately work in the Atlanta office. As part of the Enterprise Technology Operations group, the Director Telemetry Platforms will provide leadership, vision and strategy for all telemetry platforms across Cox Automotive. Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  • Leadership and oversight of the four key areas: monitoring, cmdb, logging, and aiops.
  • Develop and foster a strong relationship with our software engineering, engineering enablement and reliability engineering partners.
  • Partner with others in the enterprise to ensure effective, streamlined and successful interactions between software delivery and enterprise operations teams.
  • Advocate continuous learning and improvement culture.
  • Develop and foster a relationship with our strategic telemetry vendors.
  • Develop a comprehensive telemetry tool roadmap, including service rationalization and cost management plans.
  • Develop, maintain and promote service monitoring policies, standards and guidelines. Ensure that technology decisions and operations comply with contractual obligations, corporate policies and legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Effectively manage the telemetry platforms budget and monitor for variances.
  • Ability to work with multiple levels of leadership to achieve company goals.
  • Provide both technical and professional mentoring to the members of the IT organization.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree in related field and 10+ years of relevant experience with at least 5 years experience in a leadership role; or an equivalent combination of education and work related experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, organization design and development with preferred experience in leading transformational initiatives.
  • Experience with ITIL/ITSM frameworks and practices
  • Experience with Agile/DevOps/Lean frameworks and practices
  • Experience with ITSM, Monitoring and Event Management tools (ServiceNow, NewRelic, Datadog, Splunk, HP BSM, PagerDuty)
  • Ability to instill confidence in the business and demonstrate the business value of IT.
  • Excellent analytical, strategic conceptual thinking, strategic planning and execution skills.
  • Deep understanding of current and emerging technologies and how other enterprises are employing them.
  • Strong vendor management and partner relation skills.
  • Ability to drive organizational change and build capabilities that effectively optimize operational efficiency and deliver innovative and agile solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts and technologies to business leaders and teams.
