Candidate must currently live (or be able to quickly relocate to) within a commuting distance of Metro Atlanta area. Relocation assistance is available. Position will be filled as either an Engineer or Engineering Associate dependent upon the education, skills, and experience of the successful candidate.Job SummaryThis position serves as the Statewide Project Engineer and single point of contact for Engineering and Construction Coordination activities associated with unique GPC Distribution Systems. Oversees all aspects of resolving issues related to providing and maintaining reliable power to large revenue, key account customers.This position is responsible for the total project design and construction coordination of advanced distribution systems involving network systems, hi-rely distribution systems, automatic transfer schemes, ductline design and cable design. This position directs the required interaction and project coordination between Network Customers, their Development and Construction forces, MARTA, and GPC Resources. It manages the interaction and coordination with other NU Departments, Regions, Marketing,TMC’s, MDS, RDS, Metering Services, Land, Accounting, Contract Administration, etc.)Job Responsibilities

All Project Design and Construction Coordination Activities.

Preliminary planning, system design, estimating, budgeting, engineering, scheduling, permitting, construction coordination, operation, maintenance, accounting, acquiring easements, job tracking, billing, payments, documentation, reporting, audits, etc.

Asset Management

Protection of system integrity

Job QualificationsEducation Requirements : (The following education or license is required)

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering OR

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering Technology OR

Bachelor's Degree in Math or Science OR

Professional Engineer's License (PE) in lieu of the above bachelor's degree .

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Contract Management, Application and Administration skills.

Strong interpersonal skills and negotiating skills.

Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.

Excellent organization and documentation skills.

Ability to effectively manage a multitude of complex activities.

Excellent job knowledge, experienced, dependable.

Proficient with MS office products and other related engineering Software systems highly desired.

Strong Technical Engineering Skills and understanding of Power Systems are highly desired

Knowledge of electrical system operations, distribution systems, underground and overhead construction practices.

Working knowledge of typical systems (scheduling, estimating, GIS & mapping, CAD, etc.).

Must be able to effectively communicate and build positive relationships with customers, engineers, customer service, sales, corporate partners and line crew personnel.

Good Attitude and Ability to provide excellent customer service both internally and externally

Working knowledge of NESC
