Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to work onsite with our customer, combining the best in logistics operations and technology. The Global Command Center Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a Global Command Center team while driving strategic objectives. Applies technical transportation logistics experience and superior communication skills to resolve key business problems and exceed customer expectations. Works closely with cross-functional departments and vendors to achieve common goals. Plans, directs, reviews, analyzes and optimizes key business processes and quality on a global scale. Works closely with product managers and vendors to identify new or improved solutions to Command Center systems and processes on a global scale. We are looking for someone with a strong understanding of transportation logistics and command center operations. Must be a thoughtful leader, mentor, and a team player. Highly adaptable, have an inherent sense of urgency, and thrive in a fast-paced agile environment.

● Ensure global standardization of Command Center/Control Tower operations.

● Utilize all available information to improve on-time performance and quality of transportation service operations.

● Create and drive strategy. Implement global innovation projects and initiatives.

● Develop procedures, lead and execute projects, and conduct risk mitigation activities.

● Ensures Transportation program mission, vision, operating procedures, and policy are executed across teams in multiple international locations.

● Works closely with internal and external stakeholders on projects that improve efficiency, achieve scalability, predictability, and drive compliance across all functional departments.

● Continually evolve the global operations to meet the customer’s and Expeditors evolving needs.

● Provide leadership, management, and mentoring to a global team.

● Develop and train teams in best practices of project management, vendor performance, supply chain, and logistics.

● Ensure SOPS, SWIs, processes and training plans are documented, updated and communicated.

● Instil a 24 hours culture in the team (handover and dialogues between zones).

● Implement tools to allow the team to be predictive rather than reactive.

● Develop and present key metrics, quickly identify and address negative trends.

Qualifications

● Must have demonstrated experience leading and working in a Command Center or Logistics Control Tower operations. Military or government preferred.

● Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, International Relations, Economics, or equivalent.

● Masters Degree in business related field (International Trade, Logistics, Supply Chain, Finance, etc.) or MBA preferred.

● Demonstrated people management experience. 5 years minimum.

● Strong technical skills and a good communicator.

● Can quickly summarize complex problems and present solutions in an easily understood manner.

● Knowledge of air, road and ocean transport and incoterms.

● Experience in developing metrics, reporting and data analysis.

● Effective interpersonal skills, including proven ability to listen, comprehend, effectively communicate clearly and concisely to obtain positive results.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must speak English fluently.

● Proactive self starter with strong organizational skills with the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

● A demonstrated history of leading process improvement initiatives. Six Sigma, Lean, PMP certifications are a plus.

● Ability to define, develop, and create business initiatives with little or no direction.

● Proficient in Google suites, Microsoft suite, VISIO/Lucidchart .

● International Travel up to 30% required.
