We are the engine that powers the buying and selling of digital advertising across all aspects of our digital portfolio including our high-growth search engine, Microsoft Bing.The Advertiser Analytics and Insights Group is seeking an Industry Strategist who is passionate about strategic planning and exhibits the ability to synthesize the complex. Your primary objective as an Industry Strategist will be developing the overarching Autos strategy for the Microsoft Advertising business, taking into consideration internal and external signals, and helping guide business partners towards the strategic vision for the vertical.In this role, you will work cross-functionally and partner directly with key autos partners to deliver growth for Microsoft Advertising and value for our clients. You’ll be responsible for analyzing data trends and performance, developing strategic business plans, and setting vertical objectives. You’ll be tasked with uncovering opportunities across the Microsoft Advertising portfolio for Autos based on client business challenges and marketplace diversification needs across supply, channels, and advertisers.The successful candidate will have strong program management, analytical and problem-solving skills. Strategy development | Effectively navigate complex, inter-disciplinarian and cross-functional teams to lead the vertical strategy development process. Develop and lead vertical strategy across markets and segments. Own vertical BI integration into strategy development for consumption by teams across MSA. Partner on ideation, pilots, and tests for Products/Solutions.

Market research | Continuously research and analyze the client, consumer, media mix, disruptors, and performance drivers within your vertical. Be knowledgeable and represent industry trends, call attention to marketplace disruptions, and facilitate conversations that connect business priorities like diversification across revenue, auctions, and channels.

Vertical leadership | Represent supported vertical in regular business forums, including MBUs, vertical communities and others. Work closely with Enablement PM to provide strategic direction and present opportunities to partner teams for vertical execution planning and activation. Maintain constant and effective communication with internal stakeholders to ensure clarity & alignment across teams.

Continuous business learning and professional growth | Continually strengthen your Microsoft Advertising, vertical knowledge, and industry expertise, and contribute to the success of others by promoting mutual learning and sharing best practices. Take accountability for your career and personal development by creating, updating and regularly checking-in on your career development plan. Complete required and recommended trainings and apply what you learn to further your growth in-role and career progression. Pursue other sources when additional training needs are unmet by existing programs.

QualificationsRequired Qualifications :3+ years of experience in program management, management consulting, corporate strategy, strategic consulting, economics, finance, business planning, business analytics, and/or equivalent experience (e.g., scaling a business, driving change in a large company).

Experience and deep understanding of online media and the broader marketing landscape.

Autos industry experience

Bachelor's degree

Eventual ability to travel 25% (air travel may be required), as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications :Demonstrated hypothesis-driven,problem-solving orientation with ability to leverage both quantitative and qualitative analyses to drive decision making.

Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to formulate and deliver insights around complex business problems in a thoughtful and persuasive manner.

Demonstrated ability to synthesize the complex - able to take multiple, complicated, disparate inputs from a variety of materials, evidence, and long form messaging and transform it into simple, clear, succinct, elegant, and compelling communication work product.

Exceptionally strong personal initiative, good business instincts, and comfort with ambiguity.

Proven ability to listen and collaborate well - building and drawing upon a wide network, sparking great ideas, gathering, and incorporating feedback from multiple stakeholders and v-teams.

High capacity for multitasking and project management skills, able to manage multiple strategic deliverables simultaneously across workgroups and stakeholders.

Self-directed with great initiative and sense of ownership.

Comfortable in a high-paced and dynamic team environment, graceful and resilient under pressure

Demonstrated project management, leadership, and cross-group collaboration skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills through all levels of the organization.

Retail industry preferred
