The IT Field Operations (ITFO) Technician Senior serves as regional point of contact for the FPS government leads, mentors the Tier 2 technician staff, coordinates government ITFO requirements, and ensures Government requirements, priorities, and objectives are met. This is not a people manager position but expected to be a leader for technical staff. This is a customer facing position and expected to directly interface with clients, customers, and vendors.Work Location: Atlanta, GAWork hours: 8AM – 5PMTravel requirement: Up to 15%About the Role:

Provide technical expertise and end user solutions for the implementation, deployment, and maintenance of hardware and software on personal computers, mobile devices, and servers (Azure).

Manage regional activities including resolving incidents, tracking of ticket status and backlog to ensure appropriate workload management.

Communicate daily with the ITFO Manager to coordinate requirement and priorities, and report status of critical tasks or issues.

Ensure ITFO activities are performed and accomplished on time, within budget to meet Government requirements, objectives, and priorities.

Provide client consulting and training on the interfacing and use of the network facilities and computer systems.

Mentor field technician staff and serve as POC when technical questions arise for technicians seeking direction or advice.

Plan and lead computer network initiatives within area of responsibility.

Proficient in setup, configuration and Operations and Maintenance of Server Hardware/OS

Proficient in setup, configuration and Operations and Maintenance of Backup Hardware/software (e.g. – HP Tape Libraries)

Proficient in setup, configuration and Operations and Maintenance of Computer systems.

Provide VIP support for government personnel

Research, evaluate, and recommend new computer network equipment and technologies. Analyzes current products and recommends changes/upgrades to senior management.

Collaborate with other technical staff and management in the testing of new software, computer systems and network technologies.

Utilize monitoring, performance analysis, network management, software and hardware equipment to troubleshoot and isolate problems, gauge network performance, and trace data and protocol activity.

Maintain timely and complete documentation of all daily and project work, using standard methods and procedures.

Devise solutions to complex operational problems within the capacity and operational limitations of installed equipment.

Develop and execute contingency plans for network software and hardware failures including isolated and major outages.

Diagnose and repair problems in a manner that prevents future errors and problems.

Provide internal consulting, technical guidance, information and support to application developers, computer operations, workstation support, company management and departmental clients.

Keeps abreast of relevant technologies and maintains selected technical certifications.

Contribute to documentation in the Knowledge Base, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), work instructions, and job aids.

Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

Ability to obtain/maintain Top Secret security clearance.

Ability to obtain a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD).

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent + 7 years’ experience

Outstanding Customer Service Skills are a MUST!

Strong Windows 10/11 Desktop Support experience

Strong knowledge of Windows Server Systems Administration, to include:

Active Directory Users and Computers and respective account management

NTFS Permissions

SMB Network Share Permissions

Print Server Management

Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Azure

Moderate networking/LAN troubleshooting experience

Previous experience in government work, including enterprise-based deployment and maintenance, systems administration

Ability to liaison between different teams and agencies and work towards a common goal

Ability and willingness to learn new technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous ServiceNow experience

Previous DHS or Federal Government experience

ITIL Foundations certification

Relevant Microsoft (Azure) and networking certifications

Microsoft PowerShell experience
